@sandranj

Very glad to see you active again.Your passion to help people is priceless. God bless you and your family tremendously ❤️

Have a qq about Vawa based AOS-

I received a notification that my case was transferred to National Benefits Center, MO 64064  in order to speed up processing. I live in TX (and haven’t changed my address)

Does it mean that my Aos interview will be held there in MO? Kindly advice.

Hi guys ,

quick question please .

I'm green card holder I have new job offer now .

I had interview with manager and asking me to do paperwork very soon .

Also manager asked me to bring driving license , SSN card , GC just in case .

Just I have had read online it says

Employers must never reverifyU.S. citizens. In most cases, lawful permanent residents do not need to be reverified .

I don't know what is correct answer .

1- Do employers have to reverify permanent resident cards? What about if they want to see it .

2- Should I provide them with My A Number on i9 form ?

Thanks

Hi everyone,

Am new here, I filed for I-360, I-485, I-765 and travel documents together on September 2019, got my prima facia for 1 yr, I had done my biometrics for my new I-485 under VAWA, I have an I-485 under marriage base which was denied because they booked me for an interview but I didn't show up, call to let them know and I didn't send them any letter stating I wouldn't be able to make it to the interview that day but my lawyers sent them a letter to reschedule the interview because I wasn't in town and I tracked it and it got to USCIS a week before the interview so I didn't bother to call them, I assumed that they got the letter and they will reschedule the interview, only to get a letter from them that it has been denied for not showing up and not calling or sending a letter that I could not make it for the interview, and I have to leave the US with 33 days, I later sent them letters my lawyer sent them, with the tracking number attached to it and had to tell them that they should please reopen my case, they got my letter , never replied back but I noticed that my status changed from denial to they scheduled me for an interview , this all happened in July 2019, then Dec 22 2019, I got a letter from the USCIS that they had reopened my I-485 and they will inform me if they need any additional information, my question is I have a work permit on my marriage base C9 and it would expire June 2020, now that they have reopened my case can I start processing the renewal of my work permit since they have reopened my case or do I just wait for the work permit I submitted with my VAWA, that work permit is C9 too since they had denied my previous I-485 before I filed for VAWA, what do you suggest I do, I don't want a situation that I wont be able to work? please what do you suggest I do, they haven't sent me RFE on my VAWA petition, they only sent 1yr prima farcia and nothing else since 20th of  September 2019.

Hi everyone,

i am very new on this forum

I applied for Vawa in August 2019. I submitted i360, i 485 N i765 . I got a RFE in october 2019 for good moral character (even though it was sent with original packet) and proof of good faith marriage. I sent them in December and they received it on December 23,2019. So they updated that USCIS have started working on my case again . My question is how long will it take to get an answer from them? I been looking at their website it says they have been approving  EAD of August 2019 but why I didn’t get anything? It’s nearly 6 months now. I do want to work as i have been sitting home since April 2019 and m helpless . Thank you in Advance

Yes, you provide your A number on the form. They will make a copy of your documents too. I believe you can just provide you GC and SSN.  For more info;  https://www.uscis.gov/i-9  click on on one of the documents and go to the  last page. It has a list of acceptable documents

If you lawyer submit a new I-485 with Vawa why sent a letter to reopen your denied I-485 he could just sent your I-360 receipt and letter telling them not to issue an NTA 😕

USCIS cannot process two I-485 one must be withdrawn... if you sent your EAD renewal has to be sent to Vermont as well, with the copy of your Previous pending I-485 receipt, and they will see you have a new pending C09 EAD as well, so is up to them to denied either the renewal you sent now or the new EAD you sent with the new I-485.

Vawa case are taking form 18 - 24 months as for now, you have to wait a little longer to hear again from them.

EAD base on C09 category are taking around 5-9 months now maybe less you may received yours soon, just make sure it was C09 category on the I-765 form.

Employer have to verify documents that establish both Identity and employment Authorization,  those are the common acceptable documents, Employer must verify this they are also protecting themselves.

Uscis is NOT OBLIGATED anymore to issue RFE,  immigration officers have full discretion to deny incomplete and ineligible applications and petitions.  They are issuing RFE under their own discretion and courtesy.

This is a new update policy implement on September 11, 2018.. please read more about it here is the link.: https://www.uscis.gov/news/news-releases/uscis-updates-policy-guidance-certain-requests-evidence-and-notices-intent-deny
