A decree nisi is NOT a divorce decree.  That is the judge approving your separation and you have to complete the waiting period specified before you can move toward divorce proceedings.  If you do not have another certified document from the judge/court dated after the waiting period, then you did not finalize your divorce proceedings and you are still married.

I need some help,

it is so complicated to get the police clearance from my country so I started asking it back in 2018 just in case I would need it later, I have it but the date is 07/2018. Does the police clearance from my country expire? Even if I haven’t left U.S.A. since then and haven’t gone to my home country neither?

@sandranj

thanks in advance 🙏🏼🙏🏼

Normally a police certificate is valid for one year.

The second page is not upload but on it it showed CERTIFICATE  OF DECREE NISI HAVING BECOME ABSOLUTE. I summited both and uscis said am not divorce from my home country.

Note:usics said A divorce  Nisi is not considered  to be evidence of a final divorce. Help what to do?

Does it have a seal on it( like a red circle pasted on one side of the paper)? And signature from the Judge?

Hi everyone! Happy new year to all of you!

I am a July 2018 filer, today I checked my statute and unfortunately after 18 months they’re asking me adicional evidence.

Do you know how long it will take to get the letter? I’m trying to not losing hope but it is very frustrating :(

Im guessing they will ask me prove of GMC since I did not send my record from my home country (I learned about that here :()

What did you submit for your gmc ? did you send them any police clearence from USA? Can you mention what documents you filed?  and most importlantly how long have you been America? I'm about to file my wawa. I have criminal backgroung paper from 5 month back too?? :

It’s always a good thing when they rfe. Because it’s a second chance at it always they ask me for rfe twice or trice. I was soo fed up like what do u want me to do? make stuff up!!! I felt ridiculed. But here I am waiting on the approval notice after I just received the ead card.

I heard that uscis is not obligated to request new evidence anymore. I seen the respond of brazil lady who knows everthing about wawa.

Yes it's from Nigeria, but what you do to resolve  it.am dying inside

Call the Nigerian consulate in Atlanta and they can help you. You may not even have to contact Nigeria. Nigeria is all about money, so contact they consulate, tell them what you need, they may ask you to send money to get the paperwork you asked for. Trying to get something from Nigeria is hard, but the consulate office in Atlanta is very very helpful.

Yes,pls what to do.because this is only hope I have

I suggest you stay calm because worrying will cause you to do the wrong thing. Anything from Nigeria is already looked at as fake, I know this first hand, so stay calm and use the resources here. The consulate in New York can help too, but they don’t answer the phone. It can be fixed, just need to call the right people. You need that Nigerian seal and signature. I don’t know where you live but please call the consulate on Monday.

The case was denied (AOS) because every divorce documents sent to them were denied . Is your case a vawa case ?

@Blackgloves: the question is how did you resolved yours. Because documentation for previous divorce would have still being required for your subsequent processing.

I think your insight on how this was resolved will be of help to this person. Since it seems you are from the same country. As you suggested that the case was denied. How did you moved past that obstacle?

I was asked to pay $6 for the stamp

I'm curious why.  (This is U.S. CBP, correct?)

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
