Good morning, I would like to share my recently experience using Advance Parole. I have a Paper Advance Parole Document because i applied for it separately after i received my EAD C09.

Yesterday February 28, i landed in Miami coming from Brazil after spending 30 days there visiting family and friends. Once i arrived at the airport I took the line for nonimmigrants and after about 30 minutes the Officer waved me to step in then i handed him my Passport, EAD and Advance Parole document. He collected my finger prints, photo, just like any other people coming with a visa, he then asked me to follow with the other Officer to a room for secondary inspection. There was only one Officer working in this room, and i saw 3 other people waiting there. After 45 minutes he called my name and wished me a great day then handed my passport and AP back with a stamp and a paper attached on it. He did not ask me any questions about my trip or anything else.

That’s great to hear.. getting our travel plans ready now and it always keeps me on the edge about using advance parole. I haven’t been back home in 8 years.. will go back in the summer!! Praying for a smooth come back like yours! 🇧🇷 🇺🇸

i went to my psychiatrist for the monthly therapy.  He was telling me that USCIS fax him on monthly basis to find out about my situation. I am just wondering how correct is that information?  Does USCIS really contact on monthly basis?

I thought whatever you are dealing with is between you and your therapist.  Have not heard that USCIS contact a therapist, maybe I may be wrong as a lot is really changing with immigration.  I have not gone to my therapist after he sent my report to my lawyer and those therapy sessions are not cheap. Ask your lawyer if they contact the therapist to inquire about your sessions with them as am just hearing this for the 1st time.

To be honest I think the therapist is telling you that just so you can keep coming.. more money for the therapist, those sessions are definitely not cheap. That’s my opinion.

same is my feeling as besides the report from therapist you would need to consent to disclosing your case. Those sessions are private in nature and your therapist even with your written consent would need to contact you and ask if you wan to disclose the content of your sessions. That is at least with my contract with therapist and they clearly informed me that beside the initial evaluation and report - the therapy sessions are private.

Agreed -- there are HIPAA regulations, ethical standards of the American Psychological Association or whatever its name is, and almost certainly state laws governing disclosures.  Something is really fishy, balo101, and you should say something.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Hi Group,

I am done with my fingerprints. How long does it take to get EAD after fingerprints?

Moreover, my attorney is saying that I will get the call of interview for I-485 ( based on VAWA) after 5 or 6 months. Is it even possible that I can get the call regardless of the approval of VAWA?

Except you're attending your marriage based interview, VAWA has to be approved for adjustment of status interview based on i360 to take place. EAD anywhere from 5-7months.👍

5th May 2018: USCIS received I-130, 131, 485, I-765, I- 864 ( After I and my spouse both applied for marriage based green card )

11th July 2018 : received  notice for the interview is ready to schedule. My spouse didn’t want to attend the interview . I contact to USCIS to reschedule the interview .  They received the request and gave me a referral number to reschedule .

5th September 2018: I had my ead card in my hand based  marriage . But, I haven’t used that for any work yet .

5th October 2018 : I applied for  vawa I-360. I didn’t send I-485 and I- 765. Because I sent I-485 and I-765 earlier based on marriage. And, it’s still showing on the website that case is ready for interview .

11 th December 2019 : I received my first prima facie notice.

4 th January 2020: I received second prima facie .

My questions arr  :

What happened to the case  of I-485 based on marriage? Is that rejected ? Did I make mistake by not sending the I-485 and I -765 again while I send the form I-360 to USCIS ? Or the pending I-485 based on marriage will merge with the I-360 ? And what’s the solution to it if I make mistake.
