Hi All,

I've been a silent reader since September of 2018. My Vawa journey is below.

• I got married to a USC in 2014

• Spouse filed I130 in Jan2017

• Work permit May2017

• Spouse canceled I130 August 2017

• Interview for I130 September 2017 I showed up with my pro bono lawyer to interview without my spouse. We filed the I360 4 days before the interview. We ask the IO to hold the I485 through my spouse but they cancelled it November2017.

• I filed my new I485/I765 C09 December 2017

• Received first Ead C09 in March2018

• Filed for second Ead December2018

• Vawa Approved in March2019

• Received deferred Action notice, Approval notice, EAD C31 in March2018.

• Received Courtesy letter April2019

• Received another EAD C09 in June 2019

• My attorney received my interview letter on Feb 10, 2020.

• Did my medical on Feb 14, 2020

• Interview on Feb 24, 2020

• "New Card being produced" approximately 45 mins after interview.

• Case approved Feb 25

Everyone please continue to pray and receive y'all blessings. God didn't take us this far to leave us. I'm happy my journey is over. My interview was pretty simple even though I was still depressed because my husband has put me through a lot and I'm still going through it. We are still married. IO asked the yes and no questions on the I485 asked for my passport, ID and EAD. She asked for my marital status, job, where I lived and where I wanted my decision to be mailed. She gave me a letter that stated my case was recommended for approval. She asked if I had more questions I said no. She said I would get a decision in the mail but hinted she will make the decisionthe same day. But I kept checking the online case status and there it was, Gods blessing.

Congratulations to you, please may I know your state please? I filled a my I-360 before you and I actually got approved in April 2019 so that’s a monthly after yours was approved, I’m yet to get my courtesy letter till date and haven’t gotten any more update yet as well, I only figured my case was transferred to local office in April 2019, I’m just checking to know if the delay is from Texas..

Already tried that twice; they rejected it both times.

If you're married to a USC yes. But I learned that even LPR spouses can also file now as visa numbers are available. Ok so don't do anything until you confirm from your attorney if he filed a fresh i485 or not. You don't want to make the pending i485 three now.👍

Thank you @Stillwinning!!!😊 I did talk to my lawyer and he had filed a new i-485 on vawa basis, along with ap and ead so, I guess I shouldn’t worry too much and I was married to USC, we had been divorced now for about over a year now.

@Stillwinning!!!😊 I filed vawa on May 2019 and then ead ap on November and recently on Jan 9 2020 fingerprints were taken on website it showes Fingerprints were applied as of Jan 29 2020,

is there any possibility of getting ead and ap before June? 2020

It's possible. Some cases go faster than others. Hoping yours is approved fast too.🙏Nothing to do but wait.👍

That seems reasonable, I’ve read almost all previous threads and comments, By the breif point it’s going to take 2 years atleast to get an approval, I do hope everyone’s goes faster and so does mine.

again thank you for your input, you guys are great help.

Hi all,

If anyone can share the checklist of documents we need to take to the I-485 interview and typical interview questions we should be prepared to answer, I would really appreciate it. I did some research online but I was not sure if we should use the same checklist of documents and interview questions they normally ask for employment based and marriage based GC interviews as the standard criteria. Any concrete and specific tips, inputs and suggestions would be welcome!

Can anyone also also recommend a reputable translation company in the NYC area if I need to get a few of my official documents translated and notarized?

If you anyone can recommend specific websites or links to particular organizations, it would be a good reference point.

Thank you all as always! 🙏

Wish you all a wonderful day ahead! :)

Guys,

Anybody knows if it is an issue if USCIS issues greencard with one surname only? My EAD is also one surname as well.

In Hispanic culture we have 1st name, middle name, mom and dad's surnames.

Please advise.
