Thank you! I have read the last 4 threads already, but now and then I see that a lot of people mention physical abuse.. And I almost catch myself thinking ”wish I had that so I would gather courage to end this nightmare, cause that is a solid proof”.. I know how crazy I sound, I am sorry if I hurt anyone's feelings by expressing myself in this way. 

 

I have a long list of things he has done and said, but that's all written by me. I’ve read what I could find online, but I just feel that what is written by only me - can that be a proof enough? With no police records?  

 

I don't attend therapy, my husband won't let me.. He knows my schedule and controls all my time.. I suggested couples counselling as well, but got a ”no” on that too of course.

As long as you're not a tree, you can move. From your comments above, looks like you're still with him! This shouldn't be the case. Run while you can. Again physical abuse is not the only form of abuse there is. Personally emotional abuse cuts way deeper than physical! It can drive you beyond crazy long after physical scars heal..you're still hurting. Don't ever wish harm upon yourself..careful what you wish for..you just might get it! You can start therapy now..don't you want to heal? While you're doing that, the therapist can write you an evaluation that can help prove emotional abuse. USCIS recognizes that. You can only work with what you've been through..you can not make up anything else..or wish you were harmed just to have physical proof! I'm glad my ex didn't lay hands on me..I'm glad I'm here today living n breathing! I'm hopeful that tomorrow will be a brighter day!🙏

Hello just wanted to share with you that my Vawa got approved on Friday!!!!

 

I am a July 2018 filer!

I am so happy right now. I knew 2020 was going to be a great year! My birthday was just a week before my Vawa got approved so this is the best birthday present ever!

 

Ive been following this forum for years and wanted to share the news. Maybe it helps

Thank you! Yes I knew it. I could feel it. I also had the best birthday Ive had in 7 years. Made so many new friends since I left my ex husband.

I ran away from him when he went on a work trip and moved to a friend in a different state with only 20$ on me. I also Changed my number. He thinks I am back in my country. my next step will be to finally file for divorce and put a restraining order on him.

You are right, thank you for supporting words! I will try and do what I can, I will definitely start looking for a therapist as well.

You say exactly what I felt. I don’t know many things in this forum, but there are many good people and they will help you.

Please can you confirm if the affidavit written by family should include information they have on physical and mental abuse during the marriage living with my partner in the US and when i fled?

Hi guys!

Congrats to everyone who get some great news!

 

I made a mistake and sent my (and my son’s) EAD renewal to Chicago instead of Vermont. 

It was June 12  2019

But despite on this my son got his fingerprints interview on July 25.

He got his EAD week after that.

But I still waiting for mine.

I don’t know how to they processing it and why did they separated it if our application were in the same envelope.

Anyways.

Im working now with my notice of action which states that I can work 180 days more without my work authorization.

 

But my supervisor asked me if I can find out what is going on with my card. 

 

So so my question is:

Can I call to USCIS if I filed under C09 category? But I have attached copy of I-360 NOA 

Or they won’t give me any information through the phone?

 

Should I send a letter requesting information regarding my EAD?

I know this question is obvious to many of you and it’s might be very irritating when someone asks the same question 1000 time. 

I just don’t have a time to go back and read everything.

Try to do it at work sometimes but missing a lot.

Because of VAWA they won't give you any info over the phone. So it's best to write them and also you can enquire through your congressperson. If anybody else has any other way...they can suggest as well!👍

It's taking 6/9 months, despite I had one case that USCIS issued the EAD very fast (10 days), but it's not normal at all. I have EAD cases pending since June 2019

Man do not pursue a relationship just because you love the person.  One-sided love is unhealthy and a waste of time. Clearly she doesn't love you otherwise she wouldn't be violent or psychologically abuse you.

You believed his marriage was fake and  you continued dating him,  well  USCIS probably will be careful taking into consideration the credibility of your statements. You might be considered a person "non credible", and they may wonder if your marriage was a  sham marriage as well. It doesn't mean they will flat deny  your case,  but your case doesn't look good.
