Someone explained to me that when your VAWA is approved they send you the C31 EAD only (Without travel permit). You can only apply for the travel permit when your Adjustment of Status (I-485) starts processing. I'm waiting to receive the VAWA Approval Notice letter and I'll send the I-485 plus the I-131 - I'm almost two years without traveling and I miss my family :(

im with vawa for a little more than a year, but hey look at me its been almost 10 years without traveling, so you case is not so bad

currently looking at the dates that they show, processing time it show first week of february 2018, did anyone see any october approvals?

Hi everyone  I have a question

My friend had vawa case and she got green card 2017.
After , 2018 she married another country, her husband’s has tourists visa B1B2 category. They arrived in USA together after married and they live in NY. They sent all documents and paid 1225$ . He has his receipt number. He got fingerprint in September. Her question is
will they have interview? Because she is a green card holder she is not citizen yet, she also sent papers for citizen and she got fingerprint in November and it’s processing.

Any advice is important 🙏sorry for my English, I work hard for that 🥰

Just a reminder that overstay is not forgiven for the spouse of a LPR, so it is important that your friend's husband has never overstayed, otherwise he will not be able to adjust status through marriage.

Hi guys!

I would like to schedule an infopass bit when I went to the USCIS website apparently is only available for people outside the US,

Does anyone know how to schedule it?

also, I got an update about my case back in Dec 27 and I didn’t get the notice yet. Should I contact my congressperson by now?

please, advise!

thanks

Yes best thing to do is contact congressman, to follow up.. Infopass can be done by calling USCIS too.

Dear house,

I received my interview notice today, they are asking me to bring a I-864W.. does anybody have experience filling it out?

Also, how do you get your physical exam to be covered by health insurance?

I have been arrested on a domestic violence misdemeanor before, I do have the court disposition that the case was dropped but do you recommend I hire a lawyer to come with me to the interview?

Can someone advice me what to do in regards of to the badly and just lack interest of my lawyer, and not assisting  me and just to be on top of my case? What im trying to say is that again today, I wasn’t unable to reach out to my lawyer to inform her that she forgot that my EAD is about to expire and we have to file ASAP. The response I got from the assistant or the secretary was ooo yeah I see that now I will try and get in touch with her since again she can’t be reached out and is out of the office. But if I manage to get in touch with her she is like we care and we are on top of your case don’t worry. I mean if I’m not asking and calling them to tell them what is happening or what needs to be done they don’t care they don’t do nothing. I’m afraid if I address that issue she is going to get personal and will terminate my contract and get tho I paid like a lot of money for her to be on top of all that. Can someone tell me what I can do I’m extremely disappointed and angry at the moment because of how my case is being handled.

Thank you for all your support and help guys you are like a beacon in the darkness for me.

Congrats on that. While it's comforting to go with an attorney, they don't really do much..as long as you have the court deposition you're fine.  On this note, it's left for you to decide if you still want to go with an attorney! And for the i864w it's self explanatory..it tells you the parts to fill. Read it carefully or wait for someone who can explain more..👍

Thank you!

I read the form and it does say us who are VAWA holders are except but it also says something about presenting evidence  and the indtruction form doesn't say anything as what evidence should go on it so it's a little confusing

You can choose to be patient with them..or you can fire them and demand part of your money be returned to you..I've had those moments with my attorney and I go hard on them. My senator and infopass has done me more service than my attorney. I am the one who updates my attorney on developments on my case..LOL the irony!💁 frankly this community is all the attorney you need. I'll say be patient with them but put your foot down! Make this place your greatest resource! 👍
