Yes family based. After i360 approval, your i485 is forwarded to the local office where it joins a queue (that's when you start counting).  The estimated date is what it is- estimated! Reality is in the field offices where it all goes down. Sometimes it's fast other times it's slow. Patience is what we all need.👍

Thank you and let me ensure. Do you mean I-485 timeline starts from time local office receives it? I concurrently filed I-360 and I-485. Does it mean timeline does not start from time i filed the paperwork? I filled all back in November 2018. It really makes me feel sad as waiting time for my local office is like 2 years from receipt date.

Again when your VAWA is approved, that's when you can adjust status (i485). They forward it to your local office for adjudication. Then you can start counting as you've just joined the queue waiting for interview slots. I know the wait is crazy that's why I advised patience is key!👍

@Stillwinning!!!😊 I can’t remember if I had sent in an I-485 for my daughter I think I did. But I didn’t send one in for myself cause it was already and I got an interview with the uscis. But I got the vawa work permit and paper I got included my daughter on there I know I did a I-360 for her but the adjustment status I’m trying to remember if I did is there anyway to find out will they request one if I didn’t. My prima facie says expires in February but eligible for an extension do I need to write them to get another one? I didn’t know I could use it to go to school and I’m hoping I can get another one while I wait for my interview.

Hello Gigi I would suggest from here on forward whatever you send to USCIS scan a copy and store it to your computer or Google file folder or wherever is safe. You need something to get back to as a proof of sent documents. Good luck!

Ask the congressperson to reach the USCIS to update your address.Mention that you mailed the change of address but USCIS didn't update at all.

Thanks Sandra, they do have my change of address through congressman but they just want an AR-11.. anything to delay cases even more.

Thanks again for your kind reply.

Thank you. My attorney told me that it varies and some get their interviews scheduled way sooner that the wait time of 2 years because once I-485 is transferred to local office - one just needs to wait for interview spot. Does it seem right?

i just got my EAD renewed. My previous expiring EAD was a combo card with advanced parole. In future, can I apply for renewal of both ead and ap? I think it was forgotten to renew the combo card this time. I don’t plan to travel this year but just want to know if it will be okay in the future if renew as combo card?

Your attorney is right on that..some interviews are scheduled faster than others..as long as you were issued a combo card, it can be renewed. In the event something comes up, you can always apply for the AP. It's no biggie! There's no point sweating the small stuffs..just pray your case moves along as it should.😊

Thank you Sandra for answering, spouse was US citizen we got married May 2015 after I came here with K1 visa, after abuse and police reports divorce happened in Dec 2015, applied VAWA by Nov. 2017, RFE and reply to RFE by June 2019 VAWA approved August 2019, currently waiting on my interview for AOS, so if I got my green card within the next 12 month and applied for a foreign spouse can I get in trouble even though divorce from the US citizen would be almost 6 years old by year 2021? Please let me know, and if you think I should wait until I become a citizen or if it is ok to do it once I get my GC , thank you.

You should be fine, but remember your Country is considered one Country with a high number of fraudulent marriages and a LOT of cases are denied.Go to see your wife at least once  before getting married. I do not suggest you going there and getting married right away. Wait to get married when you visit her for the second time.DO NOT PERFORM ANY RELIGIOUS CEREMONY BEFORE the exact day that you are getting married.

They gave examples like B2- visitor, F1 student, deferred action, no status etc. I was a B2 visitor but I’m thinking since I have a work permit and a prima facie wouldn’t it change to something like .. legal non immigrant or something idk lol

If you visa expired then put for example B2 expired.

I have a friend that lost her USC husband 3 months after they got married and apparently they had no joint bills together. I supposed she's to file the same I360 form for her adjustment of status?

I didn't understand your question.

just for my understanding.

Let's say my Vawa is pending and my i-485 is on hold. Then i submit my EAD c09  category and it is out of normal processing time. Can i submit inquiry for that online?

You just can inquire about your VAWA and AOS through  infopass,or through the congressperson.
