Calm down.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

I guess she figured it had worked for Trump...

Kidding aside, a lot of people do this. We have a managerial class that is now mandatory on how to verify the legitimacy of resumes, licenses, resources and those kinds of things. There are so many people out there who manage to BS their way into any job position, and they do an exceptional job at pulling the right strings. Someone can acquire enough information of the internet to actually look competent for the interview process, and hiring people get so googly eyed by the superstar resume's and the professional references from mom that they get sucked right along.

I'm  glad she got jail time for this. It is fraud, and it could have had serious consequences. Now I wonder how this would actually play out in a US court.

I agree with you.  Many jobs may not matter, but what if she applied for a medical position?  Anything healthcare related?  A pilot?  She could have killed someone.

Lol.

They got thoroughly embarrassed and are punishing her to cover their own screw-ups. I bet they saw the Kate Upton photo and soiled themselves thinking they struck gold.

This is a government level executive position (CIO) dealing with tech/IS matters that involve privileged/classified information.

The real question is why did they hire her on without doing background/reference checks first? Instead, they let her work in the position for more than a month where she could cause real damage, before even bothering. Simple diligence and an ounce of common sense would've prevented this situation.

Monumental incompetence, that will no doubt be blamed internally on policy (while society focuses on the woman), which means more pointless manuals to print/read for people, because it's government.
