Hello,

I've filed I-130 petition for my son (PD June 15, 2018) as a LPR mother, having received from USCIS so far, only the Receipt of my petition .

I will became a American Citizen next January 2020.

I have ben reading about keeping my petition in F2B category, since processing F1 category is very behind.

I've read that the USCIS updates from FB2 to F1 automatically once I get the citizenship.

Should I write a letter requesting the F2B retention as soon as become citizen next month?

Please advise

Thank you!

My I-130 petition is 4 years far from a Visa become available.

My I-130 has Not  been approved yet. It has even not reached NVC yet.

Should I send the letter to NVC later when my petition is approved? In this case scenario my petition would continue in F2B category for the next 4 years.

Please advise

Thank you
