Thanks but it's not so much that we don't know what to do more of we want to go to a SSA that knows how to do it.

I've read on here that some SSAs are better than others, hence why some are advised to go to a different SSA office

Just wondering if someone in the area have had experience.

Thanks tho

The printout of their own regulations will educate any  SS employee that a K1 visa holder can have a SS number .Some of the offices are not familiar with their own rules ,but having the printout with you will convince them

Okay we'll try that. Thanks. And if it doesn't work, and the i94 has expired, we wait for the EAD? Or are there complications there too and we're better off waiting for the GC? Thanks

Everything is contained in the links below. These will work. You don't need to find an office that knows what they are doing. If you run into trouble there are supervisors that you can ask for and there are links to the regulations in the material from my links that will educate them on what to do.

Green card is too long to wait depending on length of time it takes to receive, the best advice has been given, bring and understand the regulation
