Hello fellow VJ,

I will be filing I-751 (Jointly) in June 2020 however, there is a high probability that my wife (USC) and I will move out from the existing address (address which will be filed on papers) as my wife will start her College in fall 2020. I would appreciate if someone can help to answer few questions.

1) If we file I-751 from San Jose (Santa Clara County) address and later move to Oakland (Alameda County) does it affect I-751 application processing time? Based on various forums I understand that both San Jose and Oakland applicants are interviewed at San Jose field office.

2) If we move to Southern California (LA/San Bernardino/San Diego County) after filing I-751 from San Jose, CA. How does USCIS will process the application? Will it reset the timer at the processing center?

3) Does my wife have to file I-861 and AR-11?

Welcome to the forum.

Things to keep in mind when doing a proper Change of Address (COA), be sure to notify USCIS and USPS, as evidenced by this recent USCIS link: https://www.uscis.gov/addresschange .

If you change Local Field Offices (LFO), you will likely start at the back of the line at the new LFO. That would only be fair for the folks that are already filed and waiting at that LFO.

Good luck on your immigration journey.
