That's a good guess! I'm still trying to understand who requested what and why... But your guess makes sense.

Ok so you gave them a copy of your DL and your Husbands DL with the same address? If they asked for a letter from a friend or neighbour then it's just that a plain old letter. No template nothing official.

I would get more of what you sent to go along with those letters.

What is DL?

Drivers licence.

If you gave just your ID and nothing with your husbands showing you are both at the same house it could be why they are asking for more.

I show bills and joint bank accounts also

So are you and your spouse currently living together? For some reason the officer doubted this.

All you can do is provide what they asked for, plus anything else that may prove that you are living together.

I find it quite hard to believe that you cannot demonstrate that you live with your spouse. If you have lived with him for the last 3 years (per naturalization requirements if you are filing based on marriage to a USC) you must have a whole filing cabinet full of bills, insurance documents for your car(s), bank and credit card statements, tax returns, etc etc

Timeline in brief:

Today I had an interview with Citizen Ship and I was asked by a neighbor and friend for proof of living with my spouse, does it have a special form?

It’s usually a notarized letter called an affidavit.

Do you and your spouse live together and if so did your spouse attend your interview?

I know this might sound strange.. but I was with my ex for 18 years and other than having his name on the birth certificate of our two kids.. the majority of the bills etc were in my name (mainly because he was irresponsible) 🤷‍♀️

I think if I had to try produce evidence like what is required to prove bonified, we’d of likely fail the test 😂 But ever so glad he’s now my ex 😂

that would explain the accent!

You know, I never thought Canadians had accents until I moved to the US and people can instantly tell I’m Canadian after I speak.  I also hear it clearly now when I go home to visit.

@Aramesh_mn:  provide driver licenses or state ID’s that have the same address for you and your spouse.

For the friend/neighbor letter:  do it as an affidavit.  I don’t believe it needs to be notarized, but that’s a simple enough process (available at UPS for a nominal fee).  Just have it state the persons name, date of birth, and address, followed by their statements.  Example:  I, John Doe, born into January 1, 1900, residing at 123 Main Street in the city of ______ in the state of _______ and I affirm the following:  1.) _____, etc.

You can also be added to the title of the home relatively easy by contacting a real estate attorney.  Usually there is a cost of $300-$500 for this (inclusive of doc prep and filing with the county clerk).
