OK, so I am preparing everything ahead of time, since I will be going down to visit my sweetie in two weeks. Now, I am gathering all of the original documents that I sent copies of with the I-129F petition and realized that I sent the original official translation certificate along with the e-mails that I had translated for the petition. :blush:

So, does anyone know if this will cause a problem? Of course, I have copies of the translation certification.... will this do or will I have problems because they are not originals? Does anyone know or has this happened to anyone???? Would it just be best, and safer if I just go back to the translator and have him make me a new original (and probably pay again) just to be safe?????

11-17-06 - RECEIVED NOA1 for AOS and EAD

11-27-06 - RECEIVED BIOMETRICS APPT 4 12-14-06 WOOOO HOOOOOOOOOO

I don't think you need a new original made up. They only say don't send originals with your petition because you won't be getting it back, so if they have the original already I can't see why they would want to see another one!

You won't need another original. Just take your copy and ask if you can give them the copy and if they can give back your original. They only need to see the originals, and can keep a copy in your file.

I would recommend making copies and sending the originals to the beneficiary for the interview.

So they (the Consulate there in Bogota) will actually have the original from the petition that I sent originally???? The NVC actually sends the original petition over there for the interview????

Hang on, a translation from a doc to be sent to my fiance musn´t be the original? With the sworn translator´s signature and stamp?

Yeah as far as I know they send the entire original packet over to the Embassy. Many people report seeing their petitions in front of the interviewing officer with a big red "approved" stamp on it.
