Hey everyone so I paid my IV bill on 12/12 and it was taken out of my bank 12/16. However, my IV bill still says "In Process." I just got off the phone with NVC and they said I have to fill out an inquiry form and attach two screenshot (one showing the bill is in process and the other showing that the fee was taken out of  my bank account.) I asked her if it's going to take a long time for the to respond and she said, they answer in order they received, and it will probably take at least a month!! And that's just for them to respond! Who knows if they will even fix the issue when they respond. I'm so upset right now. Has this happened to anyone else? Is there a quicker way to resolve this?

Had exactly same issue, call again. The email inquiry doesn't do anything. We sent an email, nothing changed for 3 days. We called again and got a response that they would get it to the supervisor and it was fixed in a day.

because of the holidays it might take a while but otherwise it usually should take a week after you pay your bill for it to be approved.

Oh thank you so much! That just made me feel so much better! Is there anything you said to make them get you to the supervisor?

Maybe it will still just randomly change to paid, I'm just concerned because this should be a computer issue, not like a short staff issue. I'll keep checking!

Nothing special, we just called second time and asked the same question that our payment got stuck although bank told us it was charged. She was really sweet and responded that she would let her supervisor know. It was changed to paid in couple hours after the call.

Thanks for the reply, do you think its smarter to re-upload now or just wait for them to review it ?

Since it’s almost certain they’ll reject it because of the e-signature, I would save yourself time (whether it’s just a few weeks or a few days saved) and upload the fixed one now

Our CR1 Journey:

USCIS Stage:

  • Feb 14 2019: NOA1 (NSC)
  • July 31 2019: I129f NOA1
  • Sep 19 2019: I129f NOA2 (Denied - 50 days from NOA1)
  • Sep 19 2019: I130 NOA2 (Approved - 217 days from NOA1)

NVC Stage:

  • Sep 27 2019: Sent to Department of State
  • Oct 31 2019: Case number received (34 days since sent)
  • Nov 1 2019: IV & AOS fees received & paid
  • Nov 14 2019: IV & AOS submitted
  • Dec 18 2019: All docs accepted, but one additional doc requested (5 weeks from submission)
  • Dec 18 2019: Requested doc submitted
  • Feb 19 2020: Documentarily Qualified (9 weeks from 2nd submission, 14 weeks from first submission)

Interview Stage:

  • Mar 11 2020: Interview letter received
  • Apr 1 2020: Interview date
  • Mar 17 2020: Interview cancelled due to COVID-19
  • August 3 2020: Rescheduled letter received, new appointment August 25 2020
  • August 25 2020: Visa approved at interview! (558 days from NOA1)
  • September 10 2020: Embassy received passport in mail
  • September 15 2020: Passport with visa in hand

October 11 2020: Arrived in US!

OMG I was just complaining that we got stuck in the process for so long and we got email request for additional document. Well at least they checked our case and accepted AOS document. The problem is we can't open messages fro them on the ceac cite. Anyone knows what to do?

You have to click it and let it load for like 3-5 minutes. that usually works for me.

Thank you so much for your advice! I just called again and another woman answer and she said: Oh, well, it's paid on my end. And I don't know what she did but as I re-logged into CEAC with her on the phone, it changed to paid!! That's such a relief! For future reference: anyone who has this same issue, I called the normal number for NVC, pressed 1 for English and then I pressed number 5 (this was the option where it said to press number 5 if you were told to upload electronically to CEAC). I don't know if the number you press necessarily matters but the woman I got was very helpful and she took the time to log in from her end, look at my account, and explain everything to me. 👍

Also could anyone tell is there any way to get another RFE for documents they already approved? Or they documents they requested should be enough to not get any other?
