Nope, I live by myself, my parents are our joint sponsor but I don't live with them, different addresses on the I864 too. Lady on the phone told me it's required to upload a letter stating I'm unemployed, but when I check the required documents for those who are unemployed, it says nothing about a letter of unemployment, so I'm calling again to see what someone else says. She said some embassies require it but when I checked Stockholm embassy, nothing mentioned about an unemployment letter being needed either

Similar to my situation with the police certificate (except that it did show in the requirement section but not listed anywhere under the travel state required docs)

Im sorry hope you get DQ soon, and me too!! 👏👏👏👏

Hang in there

Ugh yes, it’s so frustrating. I keep checking again and again on all the instructions I can find and I really can’t find mention of it anywhere. But oh well.. Submitted it now, hopefully we all get dq soon 🤞🏻

The email also said "proof of employment" instead of "proof of income" so I'm not really sure what to make of that either. It's all so weird, why aren't they just upfront about it from the get go?

My profile also says "accepted" under everything, nothing says "missing" or "rejected", etc

Do you have sponsor? They want to make sure you can support your spouse when she/he get here.

I read if you didn't file taxes (how can you if you're unemployed), you have to make a written statement and sign as to why you didn't. Maybe that's what they mean? I am unemployed and I included a written statement saying I'm in university and I don't work. They accepted it.

I don't know if that's the same thing or....

Yes, she does. She mentioned in a previous post she has a joint sponsor. Has nothing to do with that otherwise they would have asked for a joint sponsor. This is something entirely different.

Yes, my parents are our joint sponsor, and their combined income is way past sufficient (more than 3x the requirement). They accepted all the documents but requested me to include "proof of employment"

I was employed during 2018, so I did submit my taxes and W2s for then (I didn't make enough to meet the minimum income requirement, but I was working), and that was all accepted. But this year I've started school full time 8 hours a day 5 days a week, so currently I'm unemployed, and they asked for "proof of current employment". I don't know why they need that if you mark you're unemployed on the I864, but when I called she told me to write a letter stating I'm unemployed, print it, sign and date, scan and upload, so that's what I did and so I guess the waiting game starts again 😕

Click it once in Firefox or Chrome, and let it sit for a minute or two.  I think people are bombarding the site right now.  IT took about 2 minutes for mine to come up.

Very good tip! thanks Gabalemon (eventhough I am not at this stage yet).

And congratulations!

If they stated those things they wanted up front, it would be too easy, let alone logical.. governments 🙄

im expecting an RFE also and uploaded everything they asked for... I’m personally waiting for them to ask me my employment history and education given they skipped those questions within the visa application for some unknown reason.. that and maybe proof of Domicile for my husband (even though you’d think his working for the same company for 20 years within the us would kind of indicate he lives there) 🤷‍♀️ Or they will tell us to fill out the other AOS given we filed EZ under which we very clearly qualify for..

they definately dont make this process easy, that’s for sure.

They also skipped the employment and education history on my DS260, does that mean I will get a REF, this is so weird. Let me know when you hear anything back

My wife submitted her DS-260 and everything else to NVC in October. We were also confused as to why it didn't ask for employment and education. I read somewhere in the forum that those questions only apply to males and/or people from certain countries. We got DQ with no RFE so you should be fine.

Great News!!! So there is positive hope for us. Thank you Jen TEx. How did you find out that you were DQ? Was it by email or you just checked the portal?
