Hi Woolen58 maybe you should try calling the USCIS Office to find out if they sent your case over to nvc, my Dad was approved on November 8 and I call them yesterday the guy said I should wait 60 days to hear something from nvc, but this morning I woke to notification saying my case was sent to nvc, so that’s another month of waiting.

Hi Shanshanjamrock, Thanks for the response! Actually, I have tried calling USCIS several times,  each time I was presented computer generated audio messages. I don't know how to get my call through and talk to a human.

Hey CamChad42, and Everyone,

Our NOA2 is dated Nov26, we will start calling in about 2 weeks - eventhough our lawyer says we should not call, that it is a useless waste of time (we are thinking about not working with him or any lawyer anymore anyway).

My husband and I are noobies here, since we just got our NOA2. Thanks for all your tips and advice and for sharing so generously your personal experiences (good and bad). This is real gold when discovering the process. So thank you 🙏 and I wish - for those who are almost there now -  that you get a good surprise for Christmas or early next year.

Take care you all, 🤩

Alix

Hi Alix, Did your case status change on myUSCIS or it says " On____ we approved your" ?

Well better than a full day closed but can you imagine the rush of people calling at that time?

Yes, they will be overwhelmed for sure. I will not be making any phone calls myself, I just want the DQ email and I'll be set.

Hello,

I hope its okay to ask for advice here even though mine is a F1 case

So we submitted our documents for our application

I am an adult child of a US citizen so F1 application

Mum is US citizen and is retired so we got my cousin to be co-sponsor.

The first RFE we got was a minor error on his i864 which was corrected ( his name was not written properly). So on the ceac site it said rejected, when we uploaded the corrected one it allowed us to submit.

2 weeks later we received 4 messages for FE,

i) They asked for his marriage certificate ( he listed his wife and dad as his household members)

ii) The asked for citizenship or LPR status of his wife and Dad

iii) They asked for tax transcripts for wife and Dad (by the way the wife works and He put in her income as part of household income, his Dad is retired)

iv) They said both wife and Dad should fill i864a

I do not know why ( iii -iv) are necessary since his own income is well above the required level . He earns over 100k.

Why would his Dad and wife need to fill i864a

Lastly - how do I submit these documents since on the home page it just says 'accepted'

Would I still be able to submit? or are these documents supposed to be brought to the interview

PS. My case has been current for about 6months now.

Hey Renny, sorry I really don't know enough to help you on all this. Hope you find answers soon.

My USCIS says "On November 26th, 2019 we approved your Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative, Receipt #(...) we sent you an approval notice (which we received yesterday Dec2). Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your approval notice by December 11th, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request (...)".

On the notice, it says we must allow 30 days before calling NVC which leads us to the end of December, but with the hollidays and all, we will wait for early January.

So for now (too early for sure), it doesn't say that the file was sent to NVC (if that is what you were interested in 😉

Hey guys, quick question to those who have filled out form DS-260:

I finally managed to get most of it completed myself but wanted to check one question before submitting:

Under Additional work/education/training info it asks the question "Have you traveled to any countries/regions within the last 5 years?"

Does this mean for work/education purposes? OR just travel in general?

NVC takes on average 4-6 weeks, so there's no point of everyone stressing out about this daily here.

Also, use push notifications for email so you don't have to go check if anything has come in. I submitted mine on the 14th last month and I won't even bother worrying about this till after Christmas at this point.

It's actually almost liberating to have these windows where you can turn off your brain just a bit when it comes to this process.

I still have hope.... A VJ member submitted her documents and got DQ a week later. Everyone's experience is different.
