does my priority date have any bearing on when I will get my interview date ?

No, it only really matters at NVC stage for categories other than IR in relation to visa availability

Hello All ,

I have been following the posts on VJ for quite some time. I have recently uploaded documents on CEAC website on 2nd of Dec.

My CEAC case tracker still shows the old message ("Please upload the document"). So do I have to worry?

Also, is there any beneficiary here who is not living in their home country and applying from the third country? Do we have to upload any document for legal proof of residence in the third country? :)

Yep, the case tracker will show that for everyone, even when all documents are submitted. No worries there.

And yes, although they didn’t ask for it at first, they came back and requested my husband’s proof of legal residence in the country where he lives. So I would dig that out and prepare to be asked for it, if you haven’t provided it.

Thank you so much for such a prompt response. May I know if you have uploaded it on CEAC website or not?

BDW what kind of a proof will you provide for legal residency?

Hello, i need your help.

So yesterday when we payed for the Affidavit of support fee on CEAC site, it wrote processing.

We checked again few hours time just for confirmation and it wrote PAY NOW again, when we had already payed and saw processing.

Has this happened to anyone? Is this normal? Should we be worried? Should we pay again?

I will appreciate your swift response.

     Thank you VJ family.

I keep contacting NVC and USCIS, but all to no avail!  I don't know why its taking them so long to send out my paperwork!  I don't even know what to do anymore!  :(

I guess the next question is are you married to a USC or LPR?

I know if LPR there may be delay between I130 approval and NVC contacting you due to visa availability..

if this isn’t the case, then try calling them right on opening time, seems the best time to get through.

They go by the most recent submission date, not the first, so if you upload and submit a document after the other documents they will go by that instead. NVC does like to skip around though it seems seeing how some people get DQ after as short as a few hours, so who knows at this point 😂

True, am finding it hard to believe there is a clock resetting when u add documents. My hubby added his nov pay stub on the 30th Nov and we got dq on 4th of December.

I have two potentially silly questions.
1. Has anyone heard of docs being rejected for being in black and white instead of colour?

2. How often are docs not reviewed even though the date they were submitted is past the "currently reviewing" date posted by the NVC? We're still a week or so away from when our date will be processed, but I haven't been able to find anything about if going past that date means there's a problem, or if it's a totally normal thing to go past that date.

Thanks!

Hey DGF,

I love potentially silly questions. Because I'm having same as well.

Does anyone know about it? Thank you in advance.

Hey Alix and @DGF

im 99% sure I’ve read that if the original document is colour then colour copies should be provided “should” being the main word here, not must... but after looking for the actual reference link for the last 10 minuets I can’t seem to find it sorry.. and it could just be a consulate specific requirement..

its easier to just upload colour scanned and/or photographs of documents just to be on the safe side,

Hey Alix and @DGF  maybe Ignore my last.. it says nothing about colour on general DOS page.. it’s all about legibility... https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/collect-and-submit-forms-and-documents-to-the-nvc/establish-financial-support/docs-scan-faqs.html

No worries, in short it’s basically as show below, don’t forget to keep an eye on file size <2mb colour is always a bonus, but still can’t find the specific reference listing it as a requirement, might just be Sydney consulate that wants colour..

The image must be in the PDF file format and not password protected.

The resolution must be good enough to clearly show all text, images, markings, and seals visible on the original physical document.

Be sure to include all pages of multi-page documents and both sides of double-sided documents.

If a scanned document image is not acceptable, the NVC will request a new, higher quality image.
