No you don't get notified when petition is sent. Your petition doesn't go anywhere until you are scheduled for an interview. Once scheduled usually within a week you will see your status change to "In Transit". Once embassy receives it status will change to "READY".

 

IL comes within 24 to 72 hours of scheduling usually.

Call and request to speak to a supervisor to look at your documents and get DQ'd.

Nothing to worry about. January scheduling you will probably get a date. So just stay positive. End of September DQ's got the Nov and Dec dates.

The worst part of it all is that it takes 3 months (!!!) to register this information and to update my marital status in Sweden. Also, adding an additional procedure to this already annoying process, it will take a few weeks to apply for and receive the new civil document containing this updated information.

 

Is there anything that can be done at this point or do I need to cancel both my medical examination and my visa interview? I am so sad, having waited for more than a year now and was so excited for the final reunion with my partner.

I never received the an email for the first appointment, but what should I expect as it relates to getting my actual appointment.

Email them and tell them you never knew you had a interview. They obviously have your email address so it might have been a situation the scheduling and cancellation happen so fast they never notified you.

You could easily just send email saying thank you for notifying us that interview was cancelled but we never were notified we had one. Can you please assure we get proper notification of rescheduled interview as we will need that interview letter to do our medical.

Happy new scheduling month.  Hoping to get interview in January sometime since December might not happen, Embassy Ankara, Turkey.   

 

-Document qualified on November 22

-Waiting on interview letter.

Apologies to hijack, but @dwheels76 I am curious. You say you can simply call to ask for a supervisor? Maybe I am missing something here. I  last submitted on October 23rd, and still have not heard back. This was my 4th submission. I have been submitting for coming on 7 months now, as the first time took 4 weeks, then 5.5 then 6.5 plus all the waiting in between as our immigration lawyer screwed around. I have called numerous times in the past,and although I have been very lucky to get lovely people on the other line, none could help me with getting documents reviewed before the date stated on the website.

 

Any insight you could provide as to how to approach this would be much appreciated.
