I-129F packet PROOF (Context or Frequency)

So, I'm currently building my petitioners packet. My fiance and I have technically only known each other for 6 months, but I know more than i've known anything before, that this woman is the woman I want to be with for the rest of my life.

We have TONS of screen shots of our phonecalls, facetimes, textx, snapchats, whatsapp conversations. I don't really understand what's the most beneficial for me to include. Like, entire conversations or just noting the fact that we spoke on such-n-such date.

Do the officers want to see content or just proof of ongoing communication. I am worried if I screenshot entire conversations to show context that I will not be able to show how frequent our conversations are, but I also don't want to just send random half convos that have no context and could be confusing.

Does anyone have any sound advice on this subject?

This should help you out.

  1. Evidence of ongoing communication with the petitioner, including, for example, emails, letters, phone/video call records, and text/chat/messenger transcripts from throughout your courtship.
  2. Photographs of you and the petitioner throughout your courtship.
  3. Evidence of all times you and/or the petitioner have traveled to see one another, including photos, tickets, boarding passes, hotel reservations, etc.
  4. Evidence of any shared finances, including money transfers, shared accounts, or joint assets.
  5. Evidence that you have made plans for a wedding in the U.S., including evidence such as a reservation with an officiant or court, printed wedding invitations, a list of vendors and their contact information, receipts for wedding outfits, rings, etc.
  6. List of planned wedding guests, their relationships to you, and their addresses and phone numbers.
  7. Notarized statements from both petitioner and beneficiary describing and detailing how you met each other and why you decided to get married.

Yes, I think I understand all these points, my question is: Should I provide text message screenshots in full (Full conversations) or just a high level view showing ongoing communication. Does the contents of the messages matter or is the frequency of communication more important?

It seems like you haven't filed your petition yet, so you're at the petition stage.

Your fiancee (going by your profile and timeline) is from France.

There's no need to front-load your petition with relationship evidence for very low-fraud western European countries, so you just need evidence of an in-person meeting (passport stamps, airline boarding passes, pictures together) and of intent to marry (typically signed letters from each of you; it's okay to scan and email these).

Relationship evidence is for the interview at the embassy/consulate stage.

ok awesome. This helps. Yes we are at the petition stage. I wasn't sure how in depth it needed to be.

Speaking of embassy/consulate, in France there is only one embassy in Paris which is 5 hours from her. There is however a US consulate in Lyon which is only an hour from where she lives. Do you know if interviews take place exclusively at the embassy or is there a chance she could just do it at the consulate close to her?

Very helpful info, thank you!

Only Paris has an immigrant visa unit, and immigrant visa units do K-1 interviews, so it'll be in Paris.

As far as I know, no country has more than one embassy/consulate with an immigrant visa unit (and some have none -- either due to a low number of immigrants or other issues -- and so people from those countries have to interview in another country; beneficiaries from Norway have to interview in Stockholm, for example).

I could be completely wrong, I'm only google literate when it comes to these things. haha, But when I looked it up, I read that there was a US consulate in Lyon France and the US embassy was located in Paris.

Anywho, we will cross that bridge when it comes. I appreciate your comments DaveAndAnastasia!

Yeah, but in some countries (like France) the immigrant visa unit is at the embassy and in some others it's at a consulate (the immigrant visa unit for Italy isn't at the embassy in Rome, it's at the consulate in Naples).

Snipit of the conversation is find. Don't have to send tons of chat logs. They just want to see that you are communicating over the period of time required.

I knew my fiancé for 9 months before applying. I did not send any conversation records only copies of plane boarding passes to prove we met in person and two photos. My description of meeting was a paragraph long explaining when and why he visited me.

The interview will be in Paris.

Don’t send that stuff, the USCIS workers have neither the time nor inclination to weed through it to ascertain whether the petition meets the basic requirements.

Have you met in person yet?  Evidence of an in-person meeting is required.  Focus on the actual requirements.

K-1 interviews for France are only done in Paris.
