Corrected translation of Birth cert - INTERVIEW

Hi everyone,

after being documentarily approved and with an interview date, we noticed that my birth certificate had a wrong translation of a word (I am the petitioner). Instead of saying my name and last name and DAUGHTER of my dad’s name it said SON of .... and also my mom’s fathers last name was misspelled. So i had ky paralegal correct it and we resubmitted the correct translation to our case online. This was just a typo on the translators behalf.

my question is :

1) will this be an issue?

2) should my husband take both the wrong and corrected translation to the interview?

3) what should he say in case they ask?

also,

his first police report is from 6 months ago so he got another one today (his interview is dec 17). Should we upload the recent one online too? And have him take both to interview?

many thanks!

btw i know the police report is valid for a year but we had a friend that was interviewed and they asked him to get a new one since it was already 6month old.

Just take the corrected translation to the interview.  That said, why would a petitioner's non-US birth certificate be needed at all?

it is one of the required documents listed.

Then re-read that list carefully.  What exactly does it say that leads you to believe the petitioner's non-US birth certificate is a required document for the Consulate?  Petitioner's birth certificate is used as evidence of US Citizenship, if born in the USA.  Otherwise, it is never needed in the entire process.

Thanks so much! Went over it again.
