I would send copies of all translated documents. This should include a copy in Arabic, the translation and any papers that include the certification of the translation. Retain the originals and additional copies of all and have them available for the interview if requested.

I don't think the birth certicates and such are needed in the package sent to the NVC. it was sent with the original petition that you received a NOA1 from.

Sent I-130 to TSC

Received NOA1 from CSC with a date of 8/15/06

I-130 petition approved 4/16/2008 after 19 months.

Got IIN from NVC 5-13-08

Paid AOS fee online 5-14-08, Paid IV Fee online 5-27-08

Sent I-864 forms 5-27-08

Sent DS-230 forms 5-28-08

6-2-08 called NVC and msg says "received all information, processing will take 4-6 weeks"

6-13-08 called NVC, CR1 is complete, sent RFE for CR2. returned to NVC, waitn on result

6-26-08 case complete/approved. Waiting to be transferred to U.S. Embassy in Guangzhou, China for interview date

7-7-08 Petition forwarded to Guanzhou, China. Awaiting interview letter.

I guess it can't hurt to make a copy of the original and send it in as well. I was able to get an international marriage certificate. Not sure if your country offers that or not. But like I said, it can't be wrong to send a copy. Better safe than sorry.

I haven't look recently, but didn't you provide that with the K1/i-130 petition? I wasn't aware you needed to provide it again

I stand corrected, I just checked again and I saw the following

"All documents that pertain to the applicant’s petition are required, even if they were previously submitted to the CIS with the applicant’s petition. "

I do know you only have to submit a copy, but you must have the orginal available if requested of all documents. i would submit both the arabic copy and the english translation.

I guess things have changed. I know when I did a k1 a few years ago, the word was , ylu can submit copies, but have orginals available in case you are asked for them. Maybe security procedures are causing this now? I guess I will have to work on getting a cerified copy of my birth certificate, which I don't beleive I have. I think they will accept my Passport or at least they used to. I beleive my wife still has orginal copies, as do I since I submitted copies of our divorce certificate and translations and such.

It's different when you have to submit documents to USCIS where you can send just send them regular copies. But when it comes to the NVC part of the process, you have to send in the original documents or certified copies along with translations.

I always advise against sending originals. It is not hard to get copies certified at any post office or bank (at your own bank it is often even free). Keep your originals, you might need them some time. But do send certified copies.
