I'm trying to get my kids citizenship and my best guess is I should do it via N-600K but am not entirely sure. I'm wondering if someone could help point me in the right direction. I'm a US citizen  and have 2 kids that live in Australia  (Australian passports/citizens) with their mom (ex wife) and I have been residing in the US  1 year (living here and working full time).

My kids grandmother has been living and working here 20 years which appears to match the N-600K requirements … however as I live and work in the USA now does this mean the don’t meet the eligibility requirement?:

    - Be residing outside the United States in the legal and physical custody of the U.S. citizen parent;

I go back and visit them at least 3 times a year and am Bringing them over here for a month in January, is that enough to meet the eligibility requirement?

Is this even the best way to approach citizenship? Ideally the plan is to have them living with me here in the next 1-3 years.

How many years have you lived total in the USA and how many after age of 14?  How old are the children?

is mom okay with them moving to the USA?

You can do the I-130 and they will become citizens upon arrival as LPR.

I"m not sure how the N-600 would work in your case.

This looks great Ill dig deeper on it. Looking at other posts about it briefly it appears that its a 5-12 month process to do the first interview (guessing out of the country)... you wouldn't happen to know whether there is any way I could somehow expedite the process so they do the interview while here in Jan?

The interview would take place in their own country, not in the US.

Expediting of anything wouldn’t move the process to January.. way too short of a time frame

I-130 which will give them a Green Card upon entry in the US.

I-485 is adjustment of status which doesn’t apply in your case.

After they are here in the US as LPRs then you move to the next step which would be N-600 or just apply straight for their passport which is the smarter option in my opinion. Both are evidence of Citizenship but they will need a passport sooner or later so why pay the fee for the N-600?

Good luck!
