question about DCF

I haven't even heard of the DCF until now. 

I live in US , my fiance lives in UK 

if we did the spouse visa, would we be eligible to file via DCF in the embassy in London? 

or is that only possible if we both resided in the UK?

You cannot.  It is only for situations in which the USC is also a legal resident of the country where the embassy is located.

DCF is for couples who reside together overseas.  One of the criteria is for the USC to be a legal resident of the country that he/she files the petition in
