Forgot to sign G-1450

Our I-129F application was received at the Texas facility this past Friday. I am paying with a credit card and have been monitoring my activity on it and I have not been charged. I started freaking out a little bit, and decided to relook over my paperwork and realized I forgot to sign the G-1450 form. I feel so stupid that I forgot such a small but important detail. I had looked over the actual application a million times to make sure it was signed and just missed this one part. Has this happened to anyone else? Does anyone know what will happen? I am currently living overseas and I am not sure if there is anyone I can call for more information.

First off many, many of the same mistakes that you make, others have to. It's not uncommon. So yes thousands have made the mistake but that doesn't correct yours. So let's get to the meat of your post.

I suspect that they will return your package for your signature to the G-1450 and once signed you return it and your I-129F will be processed.

It would seem that technically, since you didn't sign the CC authorization and that is a requirement of the proper use of G-1450, therefore USCIS may consider that you submitted the incorrect fee, and reject your application/petition.

Since you are out of country, don't know who is receiving your mail in the US?  If it is family, maybe they could open up the package containing the rejected application/petition, enclose a check (meeting all of USCIS requirements) for the fee amount, repackage and repost it. you could settle up with them later on? Just a thought.

Thank you! My US address is my parents house and they are going to collect the package, write a check and resend it in.

How it works out for you. Post back with a good follow-up report, when you get your NOA1 receipt. 👍
