Good afternoon

Was planning to apply tourist visa with my 5 years old daughter and shes american citizen. Its her first time to travel in US also.We apply her citizenship here in Philippines. My question is ..

Is it easy for me and my 9 years old daughter to apply tourist visa to visit my youngest daughter family on her dad side. . Does the consul ask for a lot of documents for it?

Whats the best way to do it?

Thank u

If she's a US citizen. then she cannot get a tourist visa. it would just be you applying. She would need her US passport and then can travel to the US fine.

Also, is she 5 or 9? Or are these different daughters?

The process is pretty simple - complete a DS-160, pay the $160 fee, and interview. Specific steps are on the website: http://cdn.ustraveldocs.com/ph/ph-niv-visaapply.asp

Actually getting the visa, however, can be difficult from PH. They have a fairly high refusal rate due to past abuse. But no harm in applying. Good luck!

You can bring documents of your ties to return home, such as a lease or home to return to, a letter stating you're due back for work, etc. However, just know that they very rarely look at documents. They have no way to verify their authenticity on the spot, and people can get pretty much any such type of document in minutes. Everything they need is almost always on the DS-160 + obtained via asking a couple questions (it won't be long) at the interview.

An invitation letter or affidavit of support is not required and will not be considered (https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/tourism-visit/visitor.html). They need to see ties to return home, not so much a reason to want to visit.

I think she wants to visit America with her 9 year old daughter so they could meet her 5 year old daughters side of the family .
