What evidence to bring to Interview ?

Hi all,

I’m a little confused on what we are supposed to bring as evidence in the proof of relationship for our interview. We have already completed the I-130 and passed the NVC (our case was expedited) with an interview now scheduled. Medical exam also is completed and doctors gave a form that says everything is normal. The only thing I’m stuck on is the evidence of a relationship that is on the checklist for family based visas? Does this mean I should bring all original documentation I submitted during the I-130 and NVC process ? Should I generate new evidence, photos ? Nothing was told to us specifically so I’m not 100% sure what to bring for certain besides the standard I-864, police report, passport, medical documents etc.

Thanks ! I hope this is enough info to get help..

Hello,

May I ask, what your expedite reason was? My husband got a very short notice job transfer back to the US and his employer will give us a letter to state that. I'm just wondering if that would be enough.

Thank you and I hope all.goes smoothly with your interview!!

I actually just asked my local congressmen to investigate why this process is taking so long.

Our case was very simple, and easy to process. Japanese national, married for 1.5 years, living together, income was US based and far above the poverty requirements. I suspect these helped in moving the case along because it should have been easy. These cases used to be processed at the embassy with an interview and visa approval within the same week around the 2000s from my research. For whatever reason they take forever now and I guess my congressman sympathized with that.

A phone call to the office, a few emails and we were moved along in about 2 weeks time to an interview.

Also the interview went well!  They only asked my wife when we were married and that was the only question which confirmed my earlier thought that the case could be completed without much headache.

We have a visa in hand after 11 months!

The letter from your husbands employer is good to have and include in any evidence as that helps prove domicile or intent of domicile for your case. I recommend calling the NVC weekly as well. Same goes for the congressional office, call once a week to see if they have any information on your case yet.

Best of luck to you!

Hello, thank you very much for your input. We are still in USCIS phase, only received NOA 1 so far but we will try to push that :)

Thank you so much again and all the best for you as well!!
