Hello I am new to the Forum and need some help, Both my wife and I are US citizen. I am sponsoring my Biological Dad, and my wife is sponsoring her biological Mom. I am confused about which I-864 form should I fill out. Our last year total Income on tax return is $57000, my income on W2 alone is 42000. My wife and I are married filing jointly. We already have i-130 approved for both my Dad and my wife's mom. The steps I will be taking next is below, please counsel me if I am wrong, I am greatly appreciated. We have no kid, no dependents, just 2 of us

1/ To sponsor my biological Dad, I will use I-864EZ because my W2 is enough.

2/ My wife is sponsoring her biological Mom, she will be using I-864 and I will also filing I-864 as a joint sponsor because her income alone is not enough (I wonder if I really have to file a I-864 as a joint sponsor because we filed tax jointly?)

3/ If my steps 2 was correct, do I need to disclose that I am sponsoring one immigrant and Joint sponsoring another immigrant. and where do I disclose that information. How do I do the head count between my Dad I-864EZ and my wife's mom I-864 ???

If my understanding is all wrong, could you please guide me the correct way regarding our situation? Thank you very much

1. Yes you can use the I864EZ for your sponsorship of your father

2. your wife completes the I864 as the principal sponsor for her mother ,  and as you are adding your income to hers as a household member .. this is indicated on her I 864... and you complete an I 864a

3. no. You do not need to declare the other potential sponsorship as it is not accepted at the time of completing the forms. If one beneficiary was granted their visa before you completed the other form , then it is no longer “ potential sponsorship”  amd must be declared as already sponsoring an immigrant
