Indian Citizen DCF through CHINA

Hello,

My wife and I have been living and working in China for the past few years now. We did DCF through China and we are ready to schedule the interview here. I had a few queries concerning my Indian documents. They are as follows:-

1. Do I need to apostille  the original birth certificate? It doesnt mention anywhere that Us consulates require an Apostille. Well I wouldnt be able to do it anyway since my Original birth certificate is laminated to avoid further damage but if anyone is aware of apostilles please do shed some light on it.

2. I visited India in July 2019 and got my police clearance certificate from Mumbai passport office. Does anyone know how long is it valid for? The IV instructions checklist says "A police certificate issued within the last 12 months (with a certified English translation) from your country/territory of nationality" so I assume it will be valid for 1 year. Kindly confirm if my assumption is correct?

3. The language of the PCC from India can be confusing but I believe it is just the way they use the language "no adverse information against---------------------which would render him or her ineligible for Immigration". Could someone please confirm that the above is ok.

Thank you for all advise and suggestions for this site.

Hope help helps

1.birth certificate should be in English language and it doesn’t not require any appostille

2. PCC is valid for 12 months from the day of its issuance

3. That’s how the format is of PCC so this should be fine .

Hello,

Well My original birth certificate is laminated and I don't know if I can get another one. But I was able to get a birth and baptism certificate from my church in Mumbai a few years ago. Hopefully the US consulate in China will accept the Birth and Baptism certificate from my church if they have problems with the laminated birth certificate.

Any suggestions or advise? Thank you.

Order an original birth certificate from the birth city in China as the consulate may not accept the laminated one.  And you will need a certified translation to English since the interview will not be in China.  Read carefully the document requirements for the consulate where the interview will be since is country is slightly different, and contact the consulate if you have any doubts.  Good luck!
