In process of filling out the DS160. I suppose the DS160 is uniform for all embassies, therefore I ask in this thread. The DS-160 inquires: " Has anyone ever filed an immigrant petition on your behalf with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services? " Does the current Petition for K1 visa considered to be an "immigrant petition" and therefore it has to be answered "YES" and explained as "subject of present petition"? There was no other petitions filed for the person prior to filing of present DS-160. @Greenbaum

I think it's referring to "BEFORE" your current petition, but I'm sure someone will be along shortly  and explain further.

The key word is FILED. Not approved or completed. So has anyone ever FILED for you besides your current petitioner (in this case,  you = beneficiary). If so YES, if not NO. Most answer it NO as they have never had a case FILED for them prior to their current petitioner.

In my case it is only the present K1 petition, none before or after. I see your point, but there is no word "besides". It simply asks, "Has anyone ever filed an immigrant petition on your behalf ". I am curious if anybody ever inquired about that with the embassies or DOS? I guess the other associated question is: is I-129f an immigrant petition for purpose of this question?

I'm lost. Why is this important? You answer the question and move on. Don't over analyze the questions. They are pretty straightforward.

NVC doesn't reach out to you. You follow the steps at the top of the page and you will get to where you are going.

The document says they will let me know when they send it to the embassy? Did I misunderstand? Sorry, I just want to make sure we can prepare as much as possible :). They haven't sent me a welcome letter but I have the case number and invoice number so I wasn't sure if there was some advantage to filling out the application online before you get the welcome letter or if it is just better to wait.

Q1 You will get a letter just a few days after they send your packet to the embassy. Check the PDF and see when it will be sent. It's time to move to your sub-forum to ask these questions and more specifically the ones you will have for the German Embassy portion of this journey.

If you were to look at the PDF file it tells you when your case will be shipped. This is why I made the PDF because everyone asks this question and the answer of other questions I have also listed.

Tracking your case file that's in transit to your Embassy: Shipments are made on every
other Tuesday and Wednesday. Shipments are updated throughout the day so if yours doesn’t appear, just relax and have patience as may show later in the day or the next day. If you received your case number prior to the Wednesday before the shipping week you most likely will be on the shipping schedule for the next scheduled shipping dates (see below for shipping dates).

After you get your case number from NVC it would be a good idea if you were to connect with the VJ sub forum for all things dealing with the US Embassy in Colombia and they will answer your questions for the processing of your visa from their personal experience. Link:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/96-mexico-latin-south-america/

Get the US Embassy Colombian K-1 Packet 3 (P3) at  https://drive.google.com/file/d/16Oeg4xYRja1hqUSzF-uEaj1QiyoFnv9X/view?usp=sharing as this is your bible needed to complete and receive your visa. The required documents are included and use the P3 as a check list. Once you have completed or gathered the required documents you'll be ready for your interview. If it is not on the Embassy letter, it probably is not needed.

Last but not least, READ the pages on the US Embassy website for your country so that you are up to speed.

https://co.usembassy.gov/visas/

One last place to check for information would be the VJ Wiki found here: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/Special:AllPages and here http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Colombia&cty=Bogota

Ppl doing their vaccinations in Columbia can do them with anyone not connected to the approved medical center where  your exam will take place saving you a lot of money. Be sure to get a receipt that states every single vaccination that you received. See list below that are required vaccinations. Then during your medical present the receipt for the vaccinations to the Doctor and ask that they be transposed to the DS-3025 and marked COMPLETE! Very important that they are marked complete. You will use this document once you are married and filing your AOS package.

Good luck and God's speed.
