I didn't think you could book your medical until after it arrived at the Embassy or after P3 was sent in?

Each embassy is different. They have different processes for the next steps. If you get ahead of the directions I have seen embassy's cancel an interview date. I have also seen where the embassy has locked down the scheduling website till you follow their directions and they say it's ok to move ahead.

Canada has a different protocol then UK. Time to move to your sub-forum to ask specific question of the embassy interview and the hurdles that you must jump over. Good luck,

Time to move over to your sub-forum for your region where others who are processing through the same embassy as you can help you. There are some "left over" people that have gone through the interview that also are willing to help.

Does anyone know from what date NVC is reading inquiries made through AskNVC?

We need to change our embassy and when we called NVC they told us to submit it through there but it seems like they're very backed up reading it. They said about two weeks ago they were just reading inquiries from November 14th. We sent in our inquiry on Jan 2. Is it possible our case will be sent to the wrong embassy before they read the inquiry? In that case, does anyone how easy it would be to switch the embassy once it's sent off? As well, if the embassy changes, would that mean we get an entirely different case number or would they just change the first three letters on it?

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting on NVC. When your file reaches the wrong embassy follow the directions below.

If you wish to have your immigrant/fiancée visa file transferred from one Embassy to another U.S. Embassy/Consulate, please contact the appropriate U.S. Embassy/Consulate directly in the country where you wish to apply and follow their instructions for case transfer. Please click here for the full list of all U.S. Embassies and Consulates overseas.

The old Embassy will need to receive a formal file transfer request from that U.S. Embassy/Consulate in the country where you wish to apply. Upon receipt of this request, they will immediately forward the file for the New Embassy to process. (Expect up to a 30 day delay)

Once you contact your New Embassy you then can discuss the transfer of your fee if you have paid it prior to the decision of transferring your case to your new embassy. Be sure to have your payment receipt available.

If your case goes from embassy to embassy then NO you don't get a new case number. The case number will began with original alpha nomenclature ie. AAAXXXXXXXXXX. If her case comes from NVC then you will have a case number starting with the embassy that you will interview in. To make your payment using your old embassy's case number you establish your profile with that case number then you link your payment to your profile.

Pls do I need 2019 tax transcripts for my interview in March.

From my understanding, I doubt the Embassy will be looking for your 2019 Tax Transcripts since the tax season just started and is not due until April.  So, I’m pretty sure you can get away with just your 2018 Tax Transcripts.  If your interview was at the end of April or in May, then I think they would be expecting to see your 2019 tax return.

Thanks for your reply. I’ll go with 2017 and 2018.

If you have completed 2019 then submit 2019. If you have not use 2018. Here is what the requirement are for Nigeria taken straight from the P3 letter.

Affidavit of Support (including tax returns): All applicants are required to have an Affidavit of Support (Form I- 134- http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i -134.pdf and an IRS Tax Return). It is required for ALL applicants to demonstrate that the immigrant is not likely to become a public charge while in the United States. A downloaded or scanned photocopy of the Affidavit of Support (1-134) is also acceptable.

Check the poverty guidelines here - if the petitioner makes LESS than the minimum for their Household size, they MUST get a joint sponsor to also submit an Affidavit of Support along with their most recent tax return.
