For all of these NOA-2 approvals that some of you have received so far (YAY 🥰 btw!), have the text messages been primarily in the mornings?  Or have some received text messages later on in the day?

I believe so...4 out of 12 cases that I follow on my USCIS app between yesterday and today where approved between 9-11 am and they are all December filers....I am now sure there is no order to it because 2 cases from 31st December was approved and 1 from middle of December and the other from 1st week of December.

Good to know - now I'll stop thinking about it after 11am and move on with my day!  Lol

I think the one labeled "Case Tracker" is for iPhone only.  I searched on my Android for like an hour before googling it and it's not on the Play store.

I’ve not received any texts or emails, I was checking my WAC like maybe once or twice a week, if that... And I happened to check the day it got approved because we were waiting to board our flight. Loved the Case Tracker for iOS. So accurate! There are now so many NOA1 Dec 2nd approvals that have popped up just in the past few days after we got ours.

Hang tight, your turn is coming, guys! Just around the corner. It’s a matter of days or a couple weeks!

Short answer is NO.

Types of Benefits

The rule’s definition of public benefit is in line with the one laid out in the DHS rule and includes any of the following forms of assistance received on or after October 15, 2019:

  • Any cash assistance for income maintenance including Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), and federal, state or local cash benefit programs for income maintenance
  • Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
  • Section 8 Housing Assistance under the Housing Choice Voucher Program
  • Section 8 Project-Based Rental Assistance
  • Federally funded Medicaid (with certain exclusions)
  • Subsidized public housing

Exclusions may apply to members of the armed forces and their family members, those seeking health services for immunizations, and those who wish to receive testing and treatment for communicable diseases.

The DOS interim final rule will allow consular officers to deny visa applications to applicants coming from abroad if they determine that an applicant could be a “public charge” under the expanded definition.

So does unemployment fall into those categories that make you ineligible or no? I’d Ike to file for that, but if I’m going to shoot myself in the foot by doing that, I’d rather not? So confused and worried.

Do you see unemployment on the list?

I'm starting to worry about the backlog at NVC or scheduling interviews that is growing while everything is shut down. Is it going to take 6 months to schedule anything even after we get NOA2?

Why are you trying to control something you can't control. The powers to be will have a plan and you will be included in it. Till plan is released there is no plan. So, you can't worry about thin air now can we?

Just relax. Find a good movie to watch and stop worrying about what is and isn't.
