I highly agree with your last statement. You walk a tight rope of which most of us don't. My earlier reply is for your knowledge to do what is best for your situation, but also those who are reading this that have a "plain vanilla past" but there is this one thing that I have not divulge to my fiance' that could sink this whole process. I hope you understand where the rest of us are coming from. Good luck on the rest of your journey.

I have a criminal record. Arrested, charged, and dismissed for what probably would fall under dating violence even though my charges did not state so specifically. I have included all police and court documents showing the charges and outcome - dismissal. My fiancee has full disclosure too.

I agree that hiding anything isn't the wisest option. Most likely it will bite back during the interview level.

What do you mean by secrets? There are things I haven't told my fiance. I don't make it a habit of disclosing things that happened in my youth. That was decades ago.

I meant secrets that would get you denied  a Visa!

My NOA1 was 12/5, nothing yet from USCIS. The thread and comments has been an interesting read. I quit my last airline flying job (I was earning well over $100k/year) in October to help my fiance and our son while she was finishing her education. Just started with a new airline, flying cargo this time, and don’t have any pay stubs. I had $30k in savings, but that’s all gone while I wasn’t working. The new job delayed the new hire training from early to January to the end of February. I’ll be done with training in early May, hopefully I’ll have the NOA2 by then. Any advice for my situation as far as the AOS? A parent of mine will do a co-sponsor for us. Maybe get a letter from my airline stating my hourly pay and expected gross income per month or year with a few pay stubs, three years of taxes, and a co-sponsor?

Any news yet for the December fillers?

They are interested in current income. So when you go for the interview you need the following.

EVIDENCE OF SUPPORT: You must submit any evidence which will show that you and members of your family who will accompany you are not likely to become public charges while in the United States. Visa petitioner (US Citizen) will have to complete form I-134. If the petitioner does not qualify as a sponsor, a Joint-Sponsor should ALSO be presented (any US Citizen living in the US or Legal Permanent Resident), who will also have to complete form I-134. Both, the Sponsor (Petitioner) as well as the Joint-Sponsor, will have to present last year's income tax return transcripts. W2 form and proof of current and sustainable income (e.g letter of employment on letterhead including salary and start date, most recent salary receipts, bank accounts, the value of properties, etc.). You may download the I-134 affidavit at https://www.uscis.gov/i-134 Get the IRS transcript in place of the actual 1040 here: https://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Get-Transcript Use this link to determine the income levels needed https://www.uscis.gov/i-864p. Also, the new requirement from most embassies is to complete the DS-5540. https://eforms.state.gov/Forms/ds5540.PDF

If these documents can show your earning ability as well as your current earning with the new job I doubt you will have a problem. Good luck.

Thanks Greenbaum. The pay with the new job is $66,300/year, excluding overtime and per diem. I’ll be able to support my fiancé and our son, just need to get a few pay stubs. I don’t own any property or have anything in my 401K.

With that compensation package you will not have any problems with your Embassy. Good luck

Bad news for Italy 😔. March 19 I had to travel to see my fiancé from Venice to Montreal, however Venice and other provinces in Italy will be in quarantine till April 3.  I’m sad I have not seen my fiancé in 3 months already 😥
I pray that the quarantine will help, because otherwise they will extend it for another month.

Meanwhile I hope by the time I’ll see my fiancé we’ll be approved 🙂

Good luck for other couples and people stay safe !
