For many, many years we have kept the doors open to the rest of the world but that world is changing. The example is look at what happened in Europe with the "boat people". We want our citizens to be safe, healthy and able to assimilate within our society. It's sad that it has to be that way but we can't keep taking people willy nilly. I just finished processing my wife for naturalization and she is now a US Citizen. My step-daughter and her husband just submitted her paperwork with bio-metrics scheduled. He received his citizenship through the military. He is about to reenlist for another 4 years. I feel we are the type of people that this country wants. We work hard, we belong to our community and we are not criminals.

Ok. Time to get off my soap box.

True. You have a point!

Ella I honestly don’t know right now lol. It all depends on NOA2 like you said. To not stress myself, I’ve been just thinking the noa2 will come April. Once Andrew gets here we’re just going to the court house and getting married because I don’t want stress myself trying to plan a quick wedding in a month, and deal with the AOS process. We are having a wedding next summer in Jamaica. That way his family will be able to attend, we can save up the money, and it gives me time to plan, but I’m not putting a down payment down it visa is IN HAND. So those are my plans. I’m focusing on K1 process and then the AOS process, and then I’ll worry about a wedding. I also have kids so I’m not allowing this visa process to take over my life. I have other priorities.

Oh, don't think of anything expensive. We are using miles to fly there for free and doing the most basic of ceremonies!! 🙂 We have so many expenses in this process as well.

I'm trying to stay as positive as I can right now because I know I cannot change anything within the government. I'm hoping we all will hear about our NOA2's by the end of April at the latest.
Looking forward to this process being over, but I will also be remembering the struggle later on so we don't take our life together for granted.

And that’s sad because we’re paying all this money to may possibly get denials now. This is frustrating

The majority of applicants get approved. So I fail to see where you are paying money to get an approval and that's just what you will get. Of course their are exceptions for some, but they are too many to discuss. Most have good records and therefore work their way through the visa journey. So where is the frustration if you are approved?

I've told many that when you have our visa you will look back and wonder why you caused so much stress. I suspect you'll do the same. Remember, we cause our stress not the process and certainly not the adjudicator.

Very wise, the AOS  process is no joke. You can not afford to be off your game when tackling and preparing it.

Sometime a process can be stressful. Just because it didn’t stress you doesn’t mean that it won’t stress others. Everyone doesn’t operate the way you do.

Right, so I will just focus on that. When I look forward into the AOS process I get confused because it seems like so much, so I just decided to step away from that and take it one step at a time.

Also Sarge, how do I create a topic in the Jamaica forum? I want to ask a question, but I don’t see where I go to start a topic. I did it before but i can’t remember how I did it?🤦🏽‍♀️

I completely agree.  I'm not stressing out too much because I don't see a point in doing so.   Just causes more madness and my life is stressful enough without it!

My Granny always told me - Worrying is like a rocking chair: it gives you something to do, but it doesn't take you anywhere. 😊

We are here to help, once you get into it it's  not so bad.

Did I miss something. I went back to the your post that I replied to and no reference to Public Charge rule. Then I went even further back and no reference their either.

Yes, a public charge rule can get one denied or it may not. There are many items that are considered before they render a denial on a public charge.

I'm just responding to what you have written not what you meant. Oy Vey!

Where did I say that this was about me. Just my experience what I have seen over the 6 years of being here helping many to get their visa. Do you have an ax to grind. I'm here to try and help you and everything I say you have some negative comment emphasize with upper case letters. Typically that means you are yelling which isn't necessary. We can have a discussion exchanging ideas or experiences to help each other.
