I think I saw somewhere that it is the medical form that expires in 6 months so the medical and interview should be scheduled together as close as possible.  Does anyone know if this is true?

From my own research, the K1 visa itself is issued based on the validity of the Medicals. so if you have six months before your medical expires you will get the maximum 6 months K1 visa...but if you have less you will get for the validity of your Medicals...so its best its scheduled and done like 2 weeks before your interview....Thats once NVC delivers your documents to the consulate. that leaves just enough time for the medicals to be sent to the embassy ...if its delivered to the embassy a couple of days after your interview its still ok as you have evidence you have done your medicals and they will issue your visa if you are approved and when the medicals get to them....I do stand corrected

The validity of your visa will be limited with the validity of your medical report. Medical reports classified as "Class B (TB)" are valid for 3 months from the date the doctor signed the report. All other medical reports classified as "No apparent decease or defect" are valid for 6 months after the doctor’s signature date. If your case is subject to further administrative processing, or if the processing of your file is delayed due to missing documents, the medical report may expire before your visa is issued. In that case, you would be required to renew the examination and submit an updated medical report to the embassy's office before you will receive your visa.

Even though it may have changed it will still be ok. I believe you may still get it in March. Try not to worry. Everything will be just fine😊

I think the slight delay caused is due to the end of the year holidays. It might add a few days as estimated by VisaJourney, but I hardly believe there can be more delays. Fingers crossed everyone has a smooth sailing. The wait is tough at times, but nothing good comes easy 😊

Definitely, nothing worth having comes easy. Could you imagine how much gratitude we would have? The most beautiful destinations, the most rewarding things in life take time and work. We WILL get there!!

The key word here is "estimates" and you are taking them as "the word of god" which they are not. They are estimates!

No, I do not take them as word of god. 😄 I know they are based on just a small fraction of the K-1 applicants who update their timelines...

I got my NOA2 today after only 6 weeks!!!!!!!

Just kidding. My estimate is currently at the first week of April, but yea, I know there's a lot of factors involved in the processing of the app. I'll be patient for the time being.

VJ users who update their timelines are actually a high enough percentage of K-1 petitioners to be a reasonably representative sample (at least on a monthly or yearly level), unless you think there are things about active VJ users that would skew the data in one direction (I'd guess there as many factors that would make VJ users faster than average as there are slower, or close enough that any difference is statistical noise).

Even if VJ had access to USCIS's internal systems and based its estimates on that, they would still be averages; some people would be faster, some would be slower, sometimes much slower. @Sarge2155 filed a couple weeks before I did and you can look at our timelines to see how different they were.

My mistake, I meant "K-1 applicants who are also VJ members and update their timelines". There are sooo many more K-1 applicants outside of VJ.

Yes, there are. But the 1-2% that are on VJ and actively update their timelines is enough for a statistically representative sample.
