Hey everyone! Congratulations to all the recent approvals! This visa process has been one of the most trying and frustrating journeys of my life. Delays after delays. Trying to get answers on K1 resumption’s but getting no information from embassies. Contacting congressman and representative every day and still nothing. So much uncertainty!! I mean when will this nightmare end?!?!? I’ve had it with all things visa at this point, and I’m praying to see the light at the end of the tunnel shining through very soon. I needed to vent, sorry about that. I pray everyone is well and sane😊

My advice is to trust the process. There is nothing that you can do that will move your case forward at this time. If you keep busy and let the time pass you will begin to see movement when the embassies get the green light to open. This is a process that "the man with the gold makes the rules" and as an applicant you don't have the gold (authority to issue a visa). It's like waiting for a steam locomotive to begins its day from a cold start. The engine must warm up, then the throttle is engaged, and the locomotive begins to move but ever so slightly until it can get the speed up to cruising. We are not there yet. Good luck and stay engaged.

Just a question since everything is a bit confusing and too much info thrown out there and you don’t know exactly what is accurate and isn’t at this time since it still is a pandemic. Since I just got approved 4 days ago, I’m currently waiting on noa2 approval in mail to arrive. I see many individuals posting in regards to paying fees for nvc. I have checked and completed the tips and tricks for updating nvc with emails, etc. So now, regarding the nvc fee I just want to clear it up for myself and other users who may be confused a bit like myself... I can complete this fee online now or I have to wait for the noa2 approval by mail to arrive and further steps will be there and I later on complete the fee or? Hope this doesn’t confuse anybody else further 🙄😅

Yes, you can fill out the DS-160 and pay the MRV fee. However it's only good for one year. Don't complete it too early. It could take up to 8 weeks for NVC to receive and issue you a case number.

I have never completed the DS-160, Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application so I am not well versed in the completion of the document. I understood that the NVC case number was required to complete the form. Can you enlighten me if this is still true? Thanks.

I just helped my fiancee fill out three. Nowhere on the form did it ask for NVC case number nor invoice. It did, however, ask for the USCIS receipt number or my WAC#.

They will however ask for it (NVC case number) when you go for your medical, so make sure your fiancee has it!

My fiance says the same too... I guess NVC will be asked as @Sarge2155mentioned above

Received my approval notice today by mail. It took about a week. Now I should wait until I receive info by email/mail from Nvc that they received my case from Uscis to be able to apply for DS160, pay fee, and for my fiancé to then schedule his medical exam if I'm correct? Or should I tell my fiancé to complete DS160 pay fees and schedule a medical exam now, due to delays and waiting time? Idk whats best recommended. I did also read posts from above and earlier where individuals recommend calling nvc after a couple weeks of approval to get your case # to be able to then file for DS160. Just this whole when should he sign up for a medical exam now with the virus taking place gets confusing 🤦🏻‍♀️

NVC does not send a notice of receipt for a case file that was delivered from USCIS. NVC will assign a case number to your file and then one the case file is sent to the embassy then and only then will you get an email with your case number.

Or should I tell my fiancé to complete DS160 pay fees and schedule a medical exam now, due to delays and waiting time? Once you have your case number that would be the steps to take. But... But most embassies do not have their interview scheduling portals open and getting a medical is not prudent unless you have an interview date as the medical is good for the interview with a sid month validity and the date of the medical determines the expiration date of your visa when it is issued. So I wouldn't be in such a rush.

I agree in keeping expectations low since this is such a brutal and at times heart wrenching process... BUT... why would the state department put out this statement if something hadn’t changed? Seems like at least incremental progress!

You can look at it that way for sure, but I would lean to the low expectations side. Let's hope that it is indeed  "incremental" progress!
