After 32 months of waiting, my I-751 was approved without an interview. Out of the blue, I received a message "Card is being produced" and the next day "Case approved." The 10-year green card arrived within 5 days. At the same time, I received notification that my N-400 interview had been scheduled for 22 April. (When I applied online, I had requested a combo interview but never expected it to take this long.) Then I received notification that my N-400 interview was cancelled. This really bummed me out! Luckily, they have now re-scheduled the interview for 10 May, which I hope will be the end of the line if Las Vegas is still doing same-day oath ceremonies.

I will be bringing my husband's passport as proof of his citizenship as we cannot find his naturalization certificate. If there are any problems, I will report back as I know other people have questions about this.

How did it go, did you need your spouse ?

my n400 letter specifically states not to bring anyone

Two days before my N-400 interview , I have received an other letter, they scheduled my I-751 interview on the same time when i was scheduled for N-400.

My interview was scheduled at 6:30 am down town LA office. I got there at 6:00am. There was a long line to enter. We entered the building at 7:25am. Then after check-in we waited for at least on hour to be called by the officer.

The officer asked do you have any further proofs for your marriage, i handed over the tax returns, kids birth certificates and some other documents. He told me to wait again in the waiting room.

He came back again in 15 minutes and called us in.

They started with i-751, and after questioning, the officer told me, he is going to recommend my i-751 for approval. Then he moved to N 400, test questions, reading writing, and he told me congratulation, he is recommending my case for approval. He worked on computer for 10 minutes, while we were waiting quietly.  Then he printed us the letter for oath ceremony for coming Monday.

My online status has changed to "Oath ceremony scheduled" but I-751 is still "ready for schedule for Interview".

Congratulations! I had my n400 interview too in LA last April 12 but just that. My i-751 is still pending that is why they cannot give me a schedule for oath taking. Was your i-751 transferred to NBC prior to your current status "ready for schedule to interview'?

Current timeline:

July 2019 - filed I-751

August 2020 - filed N400

Sept. 2020 - i-751 status "Case Was Transferred to a New Office". Transferred to NBC.

April 12, 2021 - N400 interview in LA passed (with a pending i-751)

May 20, 2021 - I-751 status changed to Approved and N400 status changed to Oath Will Be Scheduled. 🤩

May 21, 2021 - received a call and email from USCIS Los Angeles with my NOA with my oath schedule.

May 28, 2021 - oath taking schedule in USCIS DTLA office. 😍

I don't know, when they transferred my case. The online status was same from December 2019, "ready to schedule for interview", Actually, its still the same online, which is very weird..

A lot of people are taking their spouse's and requesting combo interview. Have you tried this?

Y'all, my journey has ended! As of today, I am a US citizen! It was quite an emotional moment for me. I am now a dual citizen of both Germany and the US.

My timeline:

15 September 2017 - arrived in the US with marriage-based conditional Green Card

27 June 2019 - applied for Removal of Conditions

11 September 2019 - ready to schedule interview

28 August 2020 - applied for US citizenship

January 2021 - case inquiry about ROC

02 February 2021 - naturalization interview was scheduled in Louisville, KY

10 March 2021 - combo interview for both ROC and citizenship - I had a phone call on the morning of the interview informing me that it would be a combo interview and to bring my husband

14 April 2021 - oath ceremony

I want to thank everybody in this forum for their support and wish everybody who is still in the process all the best and loooooots of patience!!

Yes. But mine was transferred to NBC. Here was my experience. I have a simple case but I think yours was retained in LA while mine got transferred to NBC to balance their workload.

Current timeline:

July 2019 - filed I-751

August 2020 - filed N400

Congrats!

I read your previous posts and I am in the same exact boat as you (I-751 approved, no movement on N-400). Could you tell me how long after your interview you received the oath letter?

AOS:

01-05-2017 - NOA1 received

05-03-2017 - Verbally approved in interview

05-26-2017 - Card was mailed

I just looked at my case history one last time. The oath was scheduled 13 days after the interview.

Hello everyone!

I received a RFIE for my I-751 and have time until June 7th to respond.

My RFIE requires me to respond back with interview date and location in the U.S. or any U.S. territory for my interview. I am a military spouse living in Japan.

BUT on June 23rd, I will be elegible to apply for citizenship under INA 319(e) -meaning, I can get to be interviewed here in Japan.

My question is, can I respond to my RFIE respectfully requesting them to merge both applications and be interviewed for both here in Japan?

I'm also going to mention it on my N-400 cover letter that I have my I-751 pending

I wouldn't want to fly to Guam for my I-751 interview and then like a month after go to Yokosuka for my N-400 interview 😣

So have you applied for citizenship yet? 🤔 if not and you do it after June 23, it might still take a long time to get to the interview stage, meaning your I751 would still have to be done first.

No I haven’t applied for citizenship yet, I will a couple of weeks after I send my response and I will be expediting it through uscis military and for what I’ve seen, they get an interview date after 2 months

Has anyone seen a combo case where I751 gets transferred to NBC “for standard processing”? I have an upcoming N400 interview. But I haven’t got any update on the I-751 which was transferred to NBC about 2 months ago. It will be interesting to know if anyone me had a similar situation.

I applied for I-751 November 2019 and got my interview date March 22 which I have my interview tomorrow 7:45. I also applied for N-400 March 12 awaiting interview date. They are reusing my biometrics that I did last year February. I was hoping they would have combined both but they didn’t
