We're almost done! We had our interview today at 9:55. We were called back at 11:26 (there were about 6 who were called before us) and we were out by 12:15.

It was a combo interview, so I was able to go back with my husband. The I-751 interview was more like a conversation. He asked us both: what's your name, D.O.B, address, social security, where do you work, phone number). We brought a lot of updated and new evidence, but he only wanted updated bank statements, evidence of our joint auto purchase, taxes from 2015-2019 and our 2020 W2s, evidence of our trips together, and arrest records (for driving without a license).  Then he conducted the N400 and allowed me to stay in the room.

The answer to the questions were:

Civil War, Native Americans, John G. Roberts Jr., New York (name a state that borders Canada), President Joe Biden, and Republicans and Democrats. Then the N400 was reviewed and some of the above questions were repeated and there were new ones (what is your height, have you taken a trip outside of the U.S since filing N400, when did you become a green card holder). Hubby had a little trouble with the Yes and No questions. On the application when the question asked if you have ever committed a crime for which you were not arrested for, he answered yes. He received a speeding ticket and because he had his license then, paid a fine as opposed to being arrested when he was driving without a license. The interviewer, asked the question again and he said no. At this point, I realized he was asking if my husband had ever got away with committing a crime. I could see the interview was becoming a little exasperated and even said I'm going to ask you again and if you can't answer, I'm going to stop the interview because you don't understand. The issue was my husband did understand the questions, but was confused. I was trying to telepathically explain this to my hubby and let him know he needed to say no. After an agonizing 5 seconds when the interviewer asked him again, hubby said no and the questions continued. Write: California has the most people. We cant' remember what the reading part was.

At the end, the interviewer asked for the evidence of the speeding ticket (which caused us to answer yes for the above question) and we provided that to him.  We also gave him a copy of hubby's green card (which was taken away at his infopass appointment for the I-551 stamp).

After a lot of computer typing and paper shuffling, hubby reviewed the corrections and signed. We received  a verbal approval for both cases. Officially, the N-400 post interview notice states a decision cannot be made (I think because we submitted more evidence and updated the application). We were told that we would receive a notice later regarding the oath ceremony. We asked if he knew when we might be scheduled and he said "no one knows". I'm trying not to focus on the fact that we didn't get an immediate approval (it's my understanding that this happens from time to time) and ride the high of our passed interviews 😊

Hey guys, i’m just curious, how many people actually got their i-751 approval, while waiting for N400? For instance, my 18 month extension letter for expired 2 year conditional green card, will expire in april 2021. Thanks to fellow members here on the forum, i find out that i should make so-called “emergency appointment” with uscis, one week prior to 18 month letter expiration date, to get my passport stamped with additional 1 year “green card” stamp.

So what a chances to get 10 year GC before April?

I thought it's one month   prior to 18 month letter expiration date. My situation is the same as yours: the extension expires in April and my driver license too. I'm in Georgia. I need to make an infopass appointment so i can renew my driver license.

I called them week before last and I was told I have to call no sooner than 30 days before the 797 expires to get an info pass appointment for the I551 stamp. My 797 now expires 5 days after my citizenship interview. Not sure if I can get the stamp at the interview? Does anyone know?

So a friend of mine submitted her I751 in July 2019, filed her N400 in September 2020 and got her green card in the mail in December 2020. No interview since she came with a K1 visa and from my understanding, USCIS wants you to have at least one interview on American soil, so that’s why she didn’t need an interview. I think her citizenship application now says September or October 2021.

I’m sincerely glad for your friend. My situation with i-751 approval  didn’t change in that 3 months, since i wrote a post. Notorious for its Jesuitical slowness, - Seattle uscis office is in no hurry to send out a green card or schedule an interview. More than 18 months of waiting now.

Hey, I hope everything goes well with ur case, my situation is the same, did you receive oath letter yet?

Hey,

No, no Oath letter yet.  It has now been 99 days since my interview (on November 3, 2020), and 98 since I got the letter approving my I-751, with the note about my N-400 also being approved.

I called them back after 60 days, and they said that they still had no new information for me, and that they did not have access to the letter that I have that indicated that my N-400 was approved.  They said that they were not obligated to give me any new information until 120 days have expired (March 4, 2021), so I think I am going to have to wait until then.  If I do not hear anything by March 4th, I think they can start an investigation into my case.

It's all very frustrating, as I'm sure it is just a case of red tape, and a box needing to be ticked.  My current estimated time of completion is March 2021 according to the USCIS website.

Hope you find out soon.  Let me know if you do!

I’m sorry you have been waiting for so long already :( I’ve heard Seattle is insanely slow. Have you tried a case inquiry for the wait time being outside processing times? This is what I did and I think it definitely gave my case a bump and now I have my citizenship interview in a month (nothing on the ROC though). Contacting a congressman might also be worth a shot.

I guess we don't have any other option except to sit tight and wait... It depends on multiple factors, from State to local USCIS office workloads and most importantly your luck too, I have seen people stay stuck for 2 years and some lucky peeps get citizenship within 5 months. All I do is try to ignore tracking it lolss but it doesn't help much though

My biometric was reused on that same date. 14 of December 2020. Seems like majority of people biometric was reused on that same date. December 21 my interview was scheduled for February 1 2021. Tampa, fl office

The thing is, processing time for i-751 in Nebraska (LIN) Cervice Center is up to 28,5 month at the moment, so i have a long way to go to be outside of the processing time. They both i-751 and N-400 at the Seattle office right now, and processing time for n-400 is 22 months, while i wait only 7 months since applied for n-400. There only Vermont Service Center with just 14 months pros. time for n-400, but other 3 SC are 20-24 month wait.  I probably will not schedule infopass in april to get i-551 stamp, because anyway i don’t plan any essential travel outside the country. Hopefully will get i-751 and n-400 interview on the same day sometime in november 2021 (will be a miracle if earlier)

Did you complete your oath? How long did it to be Scheduled?

Omg I’m so sorry you’ve been waiting so long. Have you contacted them? Tried the case inquiry? I think it may have given my cases a bump (that is, if they’re really giving me an interview appointment now, I’m still doubtful). Another option might be to contact your congressman or-woman?

Thank you for your comment. I did tried and they said, it is still within processing times.

Hello, my wife and I filed our 751 about a year and a month ago and just filed our 400 about a month ago. We also just moved to a new home and somehow in the move we have lost my wife's expired 2-year greencard.

Today we got a notice in the mail from USCIS that they won't need another round of biometrics for the N-400.

Do we need to get another green card right now or can we wait for the new one from the I-751 to come in? Or is it likely to never come in? What do you all think? Sorry if this is too off topic I can make another topic.

green approved and i asked them do n400 interview also if possible and had that done for my wife. ( they had to ask supervisor for it and if system would allow as she was on due list to be scheduled for an interview in there system in future batchs 2 months or so he said)

but we were able to avoid 2 month wait and get it done same day

they got letter for  oath ceremony will be  schedule  later date something like that so i assume shes approved on that also.
