Good morning Everyone

 Here my timelines:

N-400:

01/18/2020 biometrics appointment scheduled for Feb 4th 2020
02/04/2020 Biometric done
11/30/2020 Interview for N-400 scheduled same day same time with I-751 for Jan 6th, 2021
01/06/2021: combo interview approved
01/07/2021: N-400 recommended to be approved. Your case was submitted for quality review.
01/07/2021 Oath Ceremony Will Be Scheduled
Waiting for Oath Ceremony

My interview was scheduled on 1.10pm but wasn't called til 2.15pm (Atlanta Field Office). It was super simple. I bought some of updated documents like bank stt, proofs of health insurance, Auto/Home insurance, utility bills... Officer asked me if I wanted to provide him any updated documents, i handed to him all, He took them but didn't bother look at them. He asked my husband (the petitioner - USC) :
How we met? when did we got married? any child (no)?
Then He said he thinks that there's no issue so he will approve this I-751, then move to N-400 questions, He asked my husband to step out and wait outside. N-400 questions, writing, reading was all simple, then he had me confirm my info what will be on my Citizenship Cert.
Then that was it. He said he will submit the case for quality review, then it should be approved.
What I need to do is just wait.
Thank you you guys for sharing all your info to help each other through this long journey and good luck.

You can call and ask if the I-751 is at the local office with the n400 and the likelihood of having both interviews together.

Thank you I have called about 3 times and they keep telling me that they would not know. I tried to escalate it but I was told that a Tier 2 has to call me back. I pray that the interview is waived and my hubby only has to do the N400 interview.

Just wanted to give an update on my two applications.

I submitted my I-751 in October 2018, and my N-400 in September 2019.  Had no activity on my I-751 after my biometrics appointment in November 2018 - almost two years.  Got an interview scheduled for my N-400 in April 2020, and was immediately de-scheduled because of the pandemic.

Fast forward a few months, and I got my N-400 interview re-scheduled for November 3rd in New York City - Election Day.

Everything I had read, and even after speaking to my lawyers, indicated that it would be a combo interview.  But when I was called for my interview, the interviewer said she only did N-400 interviews, and the I-751 was nothing to do with her, she had never heard of anyone doing combo interviews, and that it would be a different office processing that. She could not even tell me if I would need to come in for another interview or not.

Interview went fine, and at the end she was like "I can't give you a decision because of your pending I-751".  I asked if they could call that office, as it was in the same building, and it was my understanding that combo interviews were fairly common when the I-751 had not been processed.  She said she had never heard of that, and she could only give me a "no decision made yet" piece of paper, and said I could go home.

I was really dejected.  I had hoped to become a citizen that day, or at least get a date for my oath ceremony (everyone who got approved on November 3rd was given a December 18th date for their Oath Ceremony), but still felt that I was in limbo.

She then must have escalated my I-751 case because it was approved that same afternoon, and I received my approval letter the following day, on the 4th.

The I-751 approval letter stated:

We have approved your I-751 Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence. Our records also indicate that we have approved your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization. Because we also approved your N-400, you will not receive a new Permanent Resident Card (also known as a Green Card). Instead, once you have taken the Oath of Allegiance, you will receive a Certificate of Naturalization, which will be proof of your U.S. citizenship. If you have questions regarding this process, please contact the USCIS Contact Center at 800-375-5283.

So, that was great. But since then I have heard nothing.

The estimated case completion time stated January 2021 - 2/3 months after the interview, but last week, that estimated case completion time was pushed back a further two months to March 2021.

When I check my USCIS status both online and via their automated phone system, it says that my "Interview Has Been Scheduled".  There is nothing about it being completed (which it was) or approved (which the letter says is the case).

I called USCIS and spoke to an agent. They said that did seem strange, and that they could not see anything on their end, but that they could not investigate my case until at least 60 days had passed from my interview (which took place 55 days ago).

So, overall, I guess I should be happy that my citizenship seems to have been approved? But it looks like it is stuck in their system because of an error, and keeps getting needlessly delayed. And I do not have either a new Green Card with conditions removed or my certificate of naturalization.

Thank you for sharing this. I am on the same boat. I pray that my hubby only has to do the N400 and with all the evidence I sent in, they approve the I751 without and interview.  I have called and they instructed my hubby to go to the interview for the N400. I will be outside waiting just in case they decide to do the other one at the same time.

My hubby had his N400 interview today. His I751 is still pending. He passed and was given a letter saying that he will be notified via mail. I'm praying with all the evidence I sent him they will remove the conditions without doing an interview.

You can also call USCIS to see if they can do them both together.

They called me yesterday and told me that my husband should accompany me to the N400 interview so that they can also adjudicate my  I751 at the same time . So, seems like my I751 interview won’t be on March 03 2021. I will be getting a combo on February 01,2021.

They have to remove conditions before they can naturalized your husband. That’s what I was afraid of, doing my N400 interview and then I have to wait for them to remove conditions. It’s just time consuming. So, even if they don’t do the ceremony oath on the same day, I do not mind. As long as I do both interviews and get them out of the way.  But I will update you on what happen.

Thank you. I tried to get both done at the same time. We called and was given the run around. We applied for the I751 interview June 2019 and applied for the N400 September 2020 and I751 is still pending.  Now that the N400 is complete I'm praying that pushes them to make a decision.  I'm praying they just approve it like I have seen happen to many 🙏

Yes, hopefully that push them. I’m assuming you didn’t get an interview date for the I751. That is even worse, because you don’t have an idea what will happen next. However, we can hope for the best. My status for 1751 changed on January 12 ,2021 saying that they schedule my interview. I filed my I751 on April 6, 2019. This year will be 2 years. So, I’m thankful for the progress and also grateful that they will be giving me both interviews. It’s been a long wait. I will update you.

In December 2016 we began our USCIS visa journey saga.  At this juncture in year 2021 our long awaited USCIS goal of USA Naturalization is nearing finalization and completion!  Received our official USCIS Atlanta Field Office N-400 Naturalization interview scheduled on Thursday, March 4, 2021, hallelujah!  On Monday, February 1, 2021 will go to the InfoPass appointment to recieve an I-551 extension stamp in his passport.  We'll share further information after each of the appointments. Our positive thoughts are with each and everyone in their USCIS journey to successfully cross their immigration finish line.  Looking back, the Visa Journey website and community's been invaluable in every faucet of our immigration process. It has saved us hard earned money that many spend in using the services of a licensed US Immigration attorney.  We will plan to use the dollars we saved from having successfully navigated the process adhering and following the prudent, sage and wise counsel of the shared resources from everyone who unselfishly shared their information resources here on the VJ website. We could not have accomplished successfully attaining our goal without each and all of you!  Un millón agradecido a todos aqui...

I just checked the case and get the following message: "we approved your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence".

I am super happy and excited. This journey is finally coming to an end. 😀

The N-400 interview is what triggered them to approve it. We had the N400 interview yesterday. He passed the exam and the form said they would recommend approval. Since the condition case was still there, I'm sure that caused them to also review that case. We sent in lots of evidence so I'm guessing it was enough to get the I751 approval without another interview.
