@jsilva89 & @JK123

My husband’s extension letter expires in September. He will also need to renew is license at the time which is necessary to keep his job. He is a mechanic for the public transportation system here.

For what it’s worth, when we asked the USCIS agent on the phone yesterday about what we should do if we don’t have our interview by then, she said to call 30 days before expiration and they will send us another extension letter. I don’t know if that’s true, but we plan to call in August if we need to.

Sorry, if I am asking a question that has been discussed many times over and over, please excuse me - I received my interview notice today for August 4th but now that we heard about the pending furlough situation... is this even going to happen?

Just like yourself, no one knows what`s going to happen next. As USCIS loves to say '' Be patient, live and learn."

That is nice! Pray that will not be canceled. When was your date before pandemic? And what office is it? Sorry but I am not able to see your timeline.

Congratulations. As for the furloughs it’s all speculation, it’s not really clear. They have formally asked for funding now so let’s see.

Did you have i751 prior or just the N400?

Hey guys!

I just came back from my naturalization ceremony. The interview lasted about one hour, going through the N-400 application, taking Civic, reading, and writing tests. I was approved on the spot. Then, a same day oath was performed. I received my naturalization certificate the same day right after my interview.

Thank you guys for all your help throughout the journey!

Best of luck, everyone!!

Congrats! 🥳 That is the way to go. All offices should do that doing this time!

I feel the same way!! Really getting tired of all this. I’m hoping it’s somehow just a mistake or they took the week of for the 4th or Cleaning (I know some government offices do that. My husband works for the government also) or whatever and then open up again

The best way to handle this is to not think about it. I stopped checking my case online. I am focusing on other things in life. There is so much going on with uscis such as layoffs, backlogs, offices still closed... I do not want to be consumed by all this. I will enjoy every day and let this thing sort itself out.

The immigration process caused me PTSD.

I have done that since December 2018 and now I finally got an interview date so it was more exciting and near the end.
I do believe this one is a mistake or something because it doesn’t make sense to close everything down and they haven’t put out a formal note about it like they did last time.

I am sure my interview will be cancelled.. its not worth living a life like this this.. I am booking a trip to Vegas and find a property to just relax over the weekend.. allegiant air is cheap lol.. no more stress!! Its not worth it anymore.. USCIS is controlling my life since 2015 and I can't let that happen.. if its meant to be it will happen!
