Update: The official cancellation letter appeared in our documents tab. It just says "Due to unforeseen circumstances, we have canceled the previously scheduled interview on July 13..." So now we wait for whenever they would like to reschedule our interview.

Anyone else done with 2020?

On the Facebook group for N400 filers there was a post about someone having that same thing happen to them (scheduled, then cancelled), they called USCIS and had no fruitful answers so they showed up anyways and the Field Office had NO info on any cancellation for them because they were expecting the person! Interview was done without issues.

My frustration is that they constantly screw with our heads.....descheduled because of Covid-19.....then rescheduled after Covid-19.....only to be canceled "as requested".....like WHAT????

I saw that. I was hoping that would be the case for us, but I don't think it is. The letter arrived online stating it was canceled.

I am sad because I thought we were so close to being at the finish line of this long journey. Now we pretend to patiently wait for the next date and hope it doesn't get canceled for a third time.

Omg I am so sorry, It must be because of furlough I dont see any other reason. Unless they are starting to close again because of spike of covid 19.

Hey everyone, we filed for N400 on December 31st. Already had the 10 year GC in hand and were back and forth on just staying with that, but opted to go ahead and do citizenship after the Fee Increase proposal came out.

Did biometrics on Jan 22 and our estimated completion date was Sept 2020; on June 11th my wife's interview was scheduled for July 14th in Montgomery AL. Now time to see if it sticks!

I think everyone in this group was hoping to vote this year.  My hopes aren't too high for me to vote this year but we shall see.

Here is a link to see when you need to regristre by to vote for the November election.

Definitely want to vote this year and vote out the incumbent.   Can't help but feel the slowdown is politically intentional know most immigrants would not be voting for the incumbent.

It could be a number of reasons. The furloughs aren't supposed to start until August 1 so I thought we would be safe. Utah is seeing an uptick in cases, but businesses are still open and running. Our state is considered orange, yellow or green status depending on the area.

I agree with you I don't think it's the furloughs. The only states I've seen that have gotten interviews re scheduled and then cancelled again is Utah and Texas and one person from NY or NJ can't remember which one. Could it be the spike in cover cases that blocks it again?

I had an inkling to call USCIS this morning but I'm now getting a chance to post about it here @Giovanna024 @JamesFL @sdultra

Here goes....I called USCIS to inquire on my application with the explanation that the online account updates are non-existent and/or inaccurate and that progress on applications are happening WITHOUT any updates on the online accounts but only by calls into USCIS customer service line or snail mail.

I spoke with a lovely agent named Chelsea who was very helpful in providing info on my case. This time, I allowed her to speak about my case without letting her know of the updates other agents shared with me on previous calls.

She told me that the status of my case right now is that I am put in line for an interview since early January (I'm aware), she said that the West Palm Beach FL field office has not sent them any scheduling calendar for interviews just yet and (here's the kicker!) offices in Florida have NOT RESUMED NORMAL SERVICES AND WILL DO SO ON OR AROUND JULY 13, 2020.

She told me that the offices are only open at bare minimal capacity and performing emergency services only and no face-to-face services, even though Florida offices are not listed under the USCIS Office Closure page, they are technically still closed to the general public. This pertains to all USCIS field offices in south Florida - West Palm Beach, Miami, Tampa, Oakland Park, Hialeah, etc.

Another quick update: We just got off the phone with USCIS. The lady was very kind, probably because I started crying...too many emotions. She assured us the cancellation has nothing to do with our case and that we are in line for a reschedule. She said it's likely the interview had to be canceled to meet state guidelines for the number of people in the office at any given time. I am not sure if that's true, but that's what she told us.

That really sucks!  We've been waiting for an interview date too.  So it seems that the absolute earliest interview date would be mid August?  (taking into consideration there are no furloughs)
