Hello everyone, has anyone heard anything from the Mount Laurel NJ office? Or even the Newark, NJ office? I know they were doing same day oath ceremonies up until they day they closed, so I assume they would've went right into scheduling or rescheduling interviews. I follow several groups on FB and no one has heard anything from them, at all. Just curious. Thanks!

Our office is Mount Laurel. We got an RFE on May 11th and someone at reception signed for our package on May 13th so they’re definitely there sending RFE’s at the very least.

We never got notification from them that they received the RFE package we sent, yesterday our status changed to “deadline to respond has passed and your case will take additional time to process.” and our estimated completion is just longer than expected, it was July 2020.

I haven’t heard anyone scheduled in NJ yet, I’m assuming when the rest on the government agencies open for in person business on the 29th, we may hear something or at least we hope so. Good luck!

Look at the recent trends.

If you don’t have a I-751 along with a  N400 you’re not prioritized for a N400 interview.

I'm going to assume if this is true its because they're trying to avoid being overrun with infopass appointments for passport stamps when everyones extension letters run out within the next few months. Not saying it's fair, its not,  this Covid issue probably backlogged them so bad the I751 will end up with a 24 month extension letter in the next few months.

My completetion is July 2020, it was orginally May before Covid closures. I was beginning to think maybe they weren't open because no one has heard anything from them about interviews, but maybe youre right about the state closure.  I wonder if they wouldve scheduled you in May if they didnt RFE. Atleast you know someone looked at the application. Post here if you hear anything

That’s my assumption based on the limited data points I’ve seen.

Each and every one of those N400 interviews that have now been scheduled has a I751 attached to it.

Thanks for the info,

I just called uscis and was told the processing time for Mount Laurel office is 36 months. So i'm still in normal window lol.

My application is already with local office, so  just have to wait till they reach us then.

I use below trick to get to a human.
"I was able to speak to an agent using the following number selection: +1 (800) 375-5283, then press - 1, 1, 2, 2, # Please do not press this combo right away. You will have to wait until the option is requested."

Thanks this is helpful. Were you able to ask them why every office in the country has the same processing time (i.e. upto 36 months)

yes.

so unsure if they will interview me about 751. the notice has a lot of precautions for COVID-19, including to come alone.

Mine says the same I’ll have hubby sit in the car out front so he will be there if they want him in.
