Had my oath ceremony today, thought I’d let you know how it went. I’m in Nashville but it was scheduled for 10am in Memphis. 3 hour drive was a pain but some people came from further away than I did.

25 people in a room that holds 80. You need a mask. Chairs were 6 feet apart. It took a little while for everyone to get seated but once we started we were done in 5 minutes. As others have said, no guests were allowed and no photos either unfortunately (officially - although a couple of people asked and the officer obliged quickly).

So my citizenship journey is done, feels good. Now to register to vote in preparation for November!

I wish you all the best of luck with your own journeys. Stay safe!

- Simon

May I ask what you sent initially?

I pretty much sent everything I sent for ROC, and then added a bunch of extra from the last year in between filing for ROC and the N-400.

Car insurance

Health insurance

Two joint credit cards

Joing checking account statements (every 3rd or 4th from the first few years, and then every single statements from the last year)

Rental agreements

Costco memberships

Library memberships (we use these for work, believe it or not)

401k beneficiaries

Tax transcripts for 2016, 2017 and 2018 where we filed jointly (haven't filed 2019 yet so I uploaded an explanation)

and others I have forgotten about now..

We picked up where we left off with our ROC petition. We included taxes, bank account statements, update health/car insurance, daughter’s birthday certificate, some other bills and some pictures.

I sent all those basic things. Except kid's documents as we don't have kids. I don't know what else I could submit 😥

I take it you don't have a joint checking account then? USCIS loves those and asks for those all the time in RFEs.

The credit card isn't of much use for evidence if you don't use it. Anyone can get a credit card and add their spouse as an authorized user, but then never use the card. So it doesn't really prove anything.

USCIS wants to see evidence of co-mingled finances and co-habitation. The rental agreement is good evidence of co-habitation if both your names are on it, also ID cards or drivers licenses showing the same address etc. But in your post you didn't mention any evidence of co-mingled finances, that's  a major one to USCIS.

Just wanted to share with you guys that I received a text message stating that my interview is scheduled today and a interview notice will be mailed to me. It is finally moving!!

My timeline:

I filed my N-400 on 12/21/2019 online. My biometrics was scheduled on 01/17/2020, but I walked in to have my biometrics taken on 01/02/2020. No questions asked. I hadn't heard from USCIS since then. Suddenly, I got a text message update from USCIS this morning telling me that my interview is scheduled!!

I filed my I-751 on 12/27/2018, got fingerprinted on 05/01/2018. I had not heard anything till 02/03/2020. It said my case was transferred. Then it was changed to new card is being produced on 05/21, case was approved on 05/22/2020, then card was mailed to me on 05/27/2020.

I will keep you guys updated once I receive my interview notice.

Clarification: I was not scheduled an interview prior to COVID-19 so this is my first interview

Nice! That’s encouraging to hear. What was your  case estimate time for the N400?

My Estimated case completion time is March 2021(9 months) and estimated wait time is 8 months. Since I am scheduled for an interview, I concur with many other members that the time on MyUSCIS is not entirely accurate....
