what documents did you upload with N400? plz share if you can. Also did you have I751 pending before sending N400 application? thanks

If you decide to file online there's a checklist of required documents to upload. After, you can include any other documents you believe can help.

Officially a US Citizen or Naturalized US Citizen. Never received notification about the schedule being changed but took my chance and showed up at 8:30 AM. Thank you @Maryna and Justin without your posting here probably I would had missed it. Good luck everyone else waiting.

FYI. I paper filed and NOA  was 12/30/2019.

Awesome! Congrats!!!

I am surprised they never sent you anything, I thought they might have split it up into a few smaller ceremonies and kept your original timing.

Well, I am glad everything worked out!! We are officially done! :)

Hi!

No, I didn't have anything pending.

I actually submitted the paper copies via mail. There is a document checklist on USCIS website with everything you might need to send depending on the case.

So now that all in person interviews are cancelled indefinitely I guess we’ll be waiting until next year at the least to be scheduled for our citizenship interview. I guessing this had something to do with removing the estimated time of completion.

We have our  I751 still pending and my only hope is that they’ll just approve it without the interview because I doubt they’re gonna let us in to stamp my husbands passport. We’re very upset, so close to finishing this process and now back to waiting around indefinitely. People don’t even realize how many lives are being affected by shutting everything down.

I would like to suggest that the citizen spouse of each applicant contact his or her senators and representatives to encourage USIS to conduct all interviews and oath taking ceremonies online (video conferencing, Skype, etc.).  Currently a high percentage of business  of private and public corporations and agencies  (federal, state and local),  is being conducted online;  I think USCIS should be doing the same.

My thoughts exactly!

This what I wrote to the Florida sentaors and the representative today:

Dear Marco,

USCIS announced today that it will no longer provide in-person services to immigrants at its local offices. This includes lawful permanent residents who have already applied for US citizenship and now can no longer attend any interviews or oath ceremonies, effectively halting their legal path to citizenship. Please introduce legislation that will allow naturalization of lawful, law abiding  and skilled permanent residents without the requirement of physical presence. You should allow conducting interviews and oath ceremonies over Skype or Facetime. Keeping the citizenship path open  will enable  current permanent residents to apply for federal jobs in these times of need and also vote in this year's crucial presidential election.

Best wishes,

That is a well written and articulate letter!  I would encourage all citizen spouses to send a similar letter to their political representatives.

I tend to agree - the timing didn’t seem like it was a coincidence

CITIZENSHIP TIMELINE

4/2019: Submitted N400

5/2019: Biometrics (3 weeks)

2/2020: Interview (10 months)

3/2020: Oath & naturalization (11 months)

6/2020: Passport received (3 months)

Officially a U.S. Citizen!

Great letter that needs to be sent by as many people as possible.

Someone should share this with other threads (Jan, Feb, March.. Filers), so that they can do it too, and not just those that filed in December.

Thank you

Thanks. I posted it on the general forum as well, but it was crucified by people who have already naturalized and have quickly forgotten the sentiment.

The only problem with interviewing by Skype is that whenever you go in for your naturalization interview you are fingerprinted again for verification .

How would they verify that its u?

That'd be an issue up to USCIS to solve.

Realistically it's not very difficult to confirm identity, considering they took your photo at Bio Appt and the interview would be on Skype video.

They could also impose certain restrictions on the interview (Have to be in an empty room and show the room via video before starting - Or really whatever they want)

I think it's a good starting idea, and if USCIS had any better ideas or improvements to add to that it'd be better than ending all interviews until an undisclosed date.

Especially right after having a huge scandal about their processing times.

Just my opinion.

A  photo match and a few quick questions should confirm identity quite easily....The entire nation is using the internet/social media/conferencing to conduct trillions of dollars worth of business. If business can be conducted online  I'm sure USCIS could process a mere 65,000 thousand people per month.  I'll make a prediction, if USCIS were to replace the official interview with a social media interview, they will be able to process more people.  Yes, even the oath taken can be done online.
