I recall a member in an older forum taking the spouse's US passport and that was okay. However, each officer is different.

Ok :)  my spouse apparently never had a citizenship certificate. He was born in Canada to both parents being US citizens, so when he wanted to get a US passport, he just needed to show his Canadian birth certificate and his mom and dad’s birth certificates showing they were Americans, that way he got his US passport, but he doesn’t remember to have got a certificate, and getting one now is very expensive, more than 1,000! So I think I will take his US passport to the interview.

I think the issuing of a Canadian birth certificate is similar to the United States.  I would call the city in which your husband was born and ask what is the procedure for getting a long form birth certificate issued.  I'm sure it will be just a matter of sending a nominal check with a note asking for the certificate.  I'm sure the passport will be sufficient but I wouldn't risk it just in case you catch a reviewer who is inflexible.  Btw, I was born in Italy to an American father and Italian mother and had various issues when a birth certificate needed to be presented.  I always keep my birth certificate in a file.  Best of luck...

April 14th is the big day! I am so excited for my husband. Time to crack the whip on studying.

Congrats!  What was your estimated processing time before they all disappeared?

Thank you! I believe it was January 2021. It kept bouncing back and forth between December 2020 and January. I reach out to two people I found on here going through the Salt Lake office and I knew we would probably get an earlier interview. I didn't expect it to be this quickly though.

Hi VJers,

I color-coded the spreadsheet to reflect Interview date, interview approval and Oath ceremony.

An oath ceremony in Boston yesterday was cancelled. And upcoming ceremonies in both San José and Peoria (IL) have been cancelled. Mine is supposed to be tomorrow in NYC - I’m fully expecting to turn up only to find out it’s been cancelled....

My interview is for April, 22. The letter says I must bring my US spouse birth or citizenship certificate. We don’t have that, we have his US passport, I thought that was enough. Has any of you taken only the US passport and got a proved? Thanks

They didn't wanted to see anything from me last week. I am pretty sure her US passport would work.

But then again, you probably submitted all the documents already for your CR1 and ROC. So why they need to see it again is beyond me.

My husband had his interview today at the Milwaukee office and passed.

He was told his oath ceremony will be in 2 weeks.

By the time we got home, on the online system, we received a notice that Oath Ceremony was scheduled and that a notice will be sent out.

His interview started right on time. He said the officer was extremely nice, reviewed the questions in the application, asked him the civics questions and told him he was good. It took a total of 20 minutes.

I am grateful the process did not take long as we filed online on Dec 19 2019.

Just received the text notification from USCIS that my N400 Interview is scheduled. Actual date on my USCIS account is not showing up, I guess probably  it may take couple of days time to show up.

I filed my N400 application on December 15th, 2019 and my field office is Charlotte (NC). Now its time to open the civics book and start preparing for the Civics test.

My oath ceremony will be next Monday In Charlotte!

The letter that I received says be there at 12 noon, but today I got an email from them saying the time has changed to 9 am due to corona virus. I am glad it hasn't been cancelled. Pretty sure it will be a very quick ceremony.

Sorry for those whose been cancelled! You are almost there!!
