Two weeks later we flew to the United States and when we arrived my wife handed the sealed envelope to  passport control and with a big smile the passport checker welcomed her to the United States while handing to her a newly printed GreenCard and Social Security Card.  Truly a painless process.

Are you sure you are remembering correctly?  I have never heard of CBP issuing a Green Card or Social Security Card!

Yes, I do remember correctly! Actually they had told us at the American consulate that they would be giving her a green card and Social Security card upon arrival at the airport. We were stunned at the smoothness of  the whole process .

Yes, I DEFINITELY feel lucky but if you look at my timeline, you'll see I applied for I130 in 2003 and actually  have US immigration ties back to 1984, so this has been an on-going stressful event that I feel I am ready to put behind me. I also had a 601 waiver to overcome but obviously, have no one to blame but myself for that stupidity. Anyway, I know we ALL have our own story to tell and that this journey isn't over until the citizenship certificate is in my hand, so fingers crossed for EVERYONE here that they also get speed, positive results.

Although my parents, brother and my two children are US citizens, my wife and I are not (yet) and as the story goes, when you tell other Americans about the length of the application process involved (being almost 20 years for me) they are flabbergasted to say the least.

Can we connect? I have a major issue and I don't know what to do. Obviously, I will hire a lawyer but I don't think it will make a difference.

I've filed a day early and my case was accepted. Biometric rescheduled (From December 17 into 24th, to January 9) and was done on January 9, 2020. Now it says my interview was scheduled. USCIS tier1 told me it will be denied (2 weeks ago). Yet here I am waiting for that document to show up.

See I dont understand how was your accepted and mine was rejected ( I am not complaining at all about my case) and then the Tier1 is telling you you will be denied.

So you will be in to the whole process and fees and then you will be denied.

Why did you file earlier?

Giovanna, my wife is not due to apply until July 3, 2020 under the 3 year marriage rule.   We spent a lot of time living in other countries and especially Europe where she got her Italian citizenship.  I am a dual citizen, American and European.  I joined VisaJourney in order to prepare myself for when my wife will be applying.

As I mentioned on another post, the immigration visa process was easy and fast when we first applied in Italy at the American Embassy/American Consulate.  As I started inquiring about the N-400 process I noticed that it is distinct applying for the Immigrant visa.  So I dove into understanding the N-400  process and I, fortunately, found  VisaJourney that has a lot of usual advice.  I'm learning...:)

Just got the status update that my interview is scheduled. I guess in 2-3 days I will have a date to put in. It appears that Nashville is one of the faster offices.

9 Months. However, Nashville is a new field office, so there is not much data available yet. All the timelines I found so far show N400 to be approved in 2-4 months. Oath ceremonies are held monthly in East Tennessee. So as of right now, I predict to be in the April ceremony in Knoxville.

But I am just glad that People from East and Central Tennessee don't have to go to Memphis anymore.

That is because @maricelnanasca filed Online and you filed via Paper.

The online application is a hit and miss when it takes into consideration the timezones so the Receipt notice has the actual date that they "received" the application online. That date would determine if they filed early or not....seems like it was an early Online filing which is why the rep would suggest that the application would be denied.

It's really just to wait and see if a denial letter for early filing comes in the mail.
