Honestly, if it wasn't for school, I would've moved to Tampa, Cleveland or upstate NY 3 months prior to applying. I wasn't thinking, I was here saying school takes precedence and it's too expensive to move without certain things in place. If anyone wants to move, I really don't blame them because the wait times in some of these field offices are atrocious-- especially mine, in New York City.

Giovanna is correct, Miami has one of the worst processing times in the country.  The end of March we are moving to either Hialeah (Florida) or Cleveland. The application is not due until July 3, so we still have time to evaluate which has the best processing time and then move. In the meantime we'll just enjoy South Beach (Miami).

@Sartre I'm with you. If you can move to another city for 6 months and get it done, might as well do so. I really wish I could, even now I'm wishing I could move.

Miami is not so bad, there are taking about 7-9 months sometimes less base on friends who I know have gotten their citizenship in 2019

That's fantastic information, thanks!.  Currently Miami has a processing time, according to USCIS official site,  range of 12 to 23 months.  By the end of this month USCIS will most likely post  changes in processing times across all field offices.  Would like to see a big change at the Miami field office so we don't have to move to a faster processing time field office city.  :-)

That's definitely a wow! If only USCIS could bottle what Buffalo is doing right and give it the rest of USCIS field offices.

Yes, I DEFINITELY feel lucky but if you look at my timeline, you'll see I applied for I130 in 2003 and actually  have US immigration ties back to 1984, so this has been an on-going stressful event that I feel I am ready to put behind me. I also had a 601 waiver to overcome but obviously, have no one to blame but myself for that stupidity. Anyway, I know we ALL have our own story to tell and that this journey isn't over until the citizenship certificate is in my hand, so fingers crossed for EVERYONE here that they also get speed, positive results.

Although my parents, brother and my two children are US citizens, my wife and I are not (yet) and as the story goes, when you tell other Americans about the length of the application process involved (being almost 20 years for me) they are flabbergasted to say the least.

Your story falls in the category of an odyssey.  On the other hand mine falls in the category  of a short story.  We applied while living in Italy, first to the American Embassy and they responded with an approval in less than two weeks.  They transferred the case to the American Consulate for the submission of documents in Naples and they approved my wife's immigration in less than a month.  The approval would have been sooner  if I hadn't  slowed the process down because I wanted to stay in Italy a little longer. Two weeks later we flew to the United States and when we arrived my wife handed the sealed envelope to  passport control and with a big smile the passport checker welcomed her to the United States while handing to her a newly printed GreenCard and Social Security Card.  Truly a painless process.
