The interview test questions were as follows:  It's all directly out of the Preparing for the Naturalization Test pocket study guide (100 questions).

8.  What did the Declaration of Independence do?

34.  Who vetoes bills?

39.  How many justices are on the Supreme Court?

55.  What are two ways that Americans can participate in their democracy?

64.  There were 13 original states.  Name three.

100.  Name two National U.S> Holidays.

English test:  When is Columbus Day?

Writing test:  Columbus Day is in October.

So, we went to my husbands N400 interview at Mount Laurel and after all the tests and questions they said that they couldn't approve N400 because they had "no documentation of the I751 on file." We demanded to speak to a supervisor because just last month we had an infopass appointment because the extension ran out and they refused to give a stamp because of this appointment, the girl assured us that we'd have no problems because everything we needed was there and good. We were really not expecting this... I even have emails from them that say the case is at Mount Laurel, but now no one there knows anything. The supervisor stated they'd find it later in the office and then said it was in Vermont and then said it was in the office. They really have no explanation and kept giving bs following script answers, no one was any help.  It was like they were avoiding answering questions.

They ended up giving us a passport stamp that expires next October.... so I'm guessing we're not seeing the end of this anytime soon.

Idk at what point this becomes too much, I751 has been pending for two years and now no one can even tell us where our file is. Any advice on what to do now? Would a lawyer be any help? We're so frustrated and over this.

I am curious as to how she answered this question given that one passed away on 9/18/2020. Did they still accept 9 as being the answer?

My honest answer, should I be asked this (and if they have not appointed any new members yet!), would be "9 members should be assigned but the unfortunate passing of 1 has currently brought the count to 8."

That would be the best response. You could even throw in Article III Section 1 of the Constitution and go over some of the changes to make their jaw drop. Not many USC's know about this and the vast changes to our judicial system.

She said 9 and continued that currently there are only 8.  The IO insisted that 9 is the correct answer.  So further discussion was stopped there.  She answered the first 6 questions correctly so that was the end of that portion of the test.

Which is fine if you want to try impress an IO with your knowledge, but will have absolutely no bearing on whether you pass the test or not.

I had my interview yesterday and a decision cannot be made. Today they sent me a request for initial evidence asking for 2019 taxes. I am afraid if I send only the tax they would deny even though that’s the only thing they asked for. Any advice?

When my wife interviewed, she was asked if she paid her federal taxes.  She said yes we paid the taxes (it was actually a large refund).  The IO asked to show her proof.  My wife handed her a copy of 2019 tax transcript.  That was the end of it.  She was approved.

Guys, I just have my interview scheduled. USCIS alerted yesterday 09/29 (filed on 12/13/2020) . I checked today and the interview is scheduled for 11/03 at Mt Laurel NJ. I'm in shock as I would not expected this to come anytime this year. Bravo NJ filers, you will be next.

What you all bring to the interview?

I wonder is it enough to show the billing statement with the payment transaction? Or they want to see a tax transcript?

Uscis generally wants the tax transcripts. You can download for free off the irs website.

Yes good luck! Please keep me updated, do you recall if they do oath ceremonies if your interview is in the afternoon? I know they do same day oaths but not sure if your interview is later in the day.
