correction

Don't over think this. You can get items corrected during your interview and explain that you didn't realize it was for both of you. Setting up a payment plan with the IRS is good and you won't need to worry. Take proof of the payment plan in case they ask.

Thanks very much for the feedback, it's hard to not over think with some of the denial stories out there 😅

I don't even have a payment plan just paid everything outright so technically my answer now is no I (or my spouse) don't owe any taxes, but we're thinking, are we too late.. And so on. But it's just that small speck of doubt of not realizing the correct answer during initial application 😭

The officer will go over the questions and when she ask if you owe, then say ‘no’ because that is the truth. Just answer what they ask and don’t volunteer to give out information they don’t request. If they happened to question whether or not you owed money at the time, then I guess you will have to explain the situation, other than that, I don’t think you need to give any explanation

Based on my experience and what I’m seeing elsewhere the moment your estimated time disappears you’re about to get to sucked into a black hole of no movement and no updates.

Lol this is the scariest thing I ever read yet the funniest. My estimated time disappeared too and they’re giving interviews to people that applied after me. You might actually be right and my file could be just dormant in the system. Like alive data but in coma. Only god knows when it will wake up.

I hope I’m wrong but I have yet to see anyone who has had an interview having no estimated completion time in their online profile.

Curious if anyone else has.

Me. Min was estimated for March 2020 and as we hit March 1st. Mine disappeared and other that filed behind me got interview notices before me and before Covid (since got cancelled) but I got notification of interview in June, interview was in July and oath in August.

So interview 4 months later, interesting.

That makes a lot of sense, thanks for the input! 👍😊

I'll stick to the truthful facts and should they ask further to elaborate I'll keep prepared all the evidence to demonstrate that nothing is outstanding.

For those that have gone through the interview process, how often do they ask this question I wonder, like a rough % would be good to know.

Other than that I need to keep practicing for the rest of the questions and keep my application handy.

For others who mentioned their estimated time disappeared, I noticed mine did the same thing and before I knew it, I got a text message that my case was updated, I did check if my local uscis office was reopened as well and it did by the end of July. Hang in there! ❤️

Right, but your original completion time was pre covid. The new revised time you had doesn’t account for backlogs.

Yes but also keep in mind I was at a office that is usually fast.

Just received a notice that my interview has been 'de-scheduled', and there's no update on when it's been rescheduled for. What on earth should I do now?

Sorry to hear that! Yours is Boston office too 😱 was this a notice on your online portal or you received a letter.

My USPS informed delivery email showed a USCIS letter arriving today, so I checked the portal. Under 'Documents', there was a new one from 8/28 - 'Your interview has been de-scheduled'.
