So, our notice date is 08/12/2020 and we have an interview scheduled for Sept. 25.  The situation is that we are now overseas and scheduled to return in October.  So we are looking at the cost of changing flights plus we just purchased tickets for another overseas location that we would need to cancel and lose all funds for it.  Being that furloughs appear to be obvious, we are wondering if it would be better to reschedule the interview, as there is a risk it could be cancelled.

Disregard the financial costs, your US citizenship takes priority over everything else (unless there is a life and death situation). Do everything in your power to be present on September 25.

For those of you that have received their interview letter, does your letter say the proceeding will take about two hours?  Seems like a long time for an interview.  Maybe I'm dreaming of a same day oath ceremony.  lol

My letter (pre Covid) said this, I’m thinking they just haven’t updated that part. I did spend about two hours there but most of it was waiting, actual interview was around half an hour.

So you’re coming back for it? (I think that’s the wisest move, no telling how long a reschedule would take.)

Yes, we are coming back for the interview.  Our main concern now is if furloughs will result in an interview cancellation.  Plus September is the worst month for hurricane season in Florida.  Our interview is scheduled for 07:45am, so pretty sure we are the first interview of the day.
