I know right ;) but some people received same day oath ceremony😊

The same day oath ceremony is really up to the officers and facility available to do so safely due to COVID-19. For those who have previously interviewed there at Indianapolis, hopefully they can share their experience 🙂

I found a thread that may help:

Thank you for the advice. Still, I feel I must leave Florida. We have more covid cases than the whole of Europe, the Republican convention is going to be in Jacksonville, spreading the virus even more and hurricane season is coming.

Anecdotes from others who’ve done this indicate it takes a few months to transfer the case. Now, who knows? Moving from FL may well make sense but you maybe want to base your new home on something other than case processing times.

I am going through the civics test questions right now and I read it is not a multiple choice test when conducted by the Immigration Officer. How does it work? Is the IO actually asking you the question or do you have a screen and choose write down the answers?

No they ask you question and you answer no screen there.
Read the sentence from a screen and write on the screen.

He asked the questions and type my answer on his computer

My husband was asked the questions and he had to answer them verbally without multiple choice options. The only thing the tablet was used for was the reading and writing part, as well as confirming some of his information.

I thought you have to maintain at least 3 months residence on your current address.

That is only if you are moving there to file and not if you've already filed.

The civics test portion is never multiple choice. The officer asks the questions and the applicant answers; 6 correct answers in a row gets you to the next testing portion of the reading and writing in English.

Due to COVID-19, they've modified the environment to offer virtual interviews from separate rooms, wearing masks while maintaining socially distancing or separating themselves from the applicant by using desk shields BUT the civics test remains verbal and not multiple choice.

I got to say with shields and mask and what not I'm darn worried I can't hear what they are saying becasuse half the time here (with maks) it's hard to hear what people say and what I say.

I had same issue at the interview. I had to ask him multiple times to repeat the question. I said No when he asked me if I have ever filed federal taxes? He was like really “ you never filed taxes?” I had to say right away I mis heard and all the taxes have been paid till now. Phew ... plus there was a glass barrier on the desk as well!!

Exactly what I fear! Because it is SO hard to hear anything!

I gotta say, I'd be upfront about it and let them know that the masks and shields make it definitely more difficult to hear anything so please speak louder.
